Salem International Tigers Announce 2017 Early Signing Class

The Tigers went 8-39 in 2016, including a 4-20 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The 2017 season will be the first for Rouse at the helm of the Tigers program.

PBR Notes: New York Games (June 27, 2016) Frawley is a talented 6-foot-1, 175-pound catcher. He ran a 7.71 60 with a 7.54 on record. Offensively- Most of weight on back leg to start, hands at ear level. Nice 45-degree bat cock and slight leg kick. Uses quick hips to transfer frame to the front leg. Quick and high 2-handed finish with an exit velocity of 83 MPH.(84 MPH in Feb). Defensively- Receives ball in balance behind the plate. Quick feet and effective transfer. Very quick transfer with pop times in the 2.10 range (We've seen him as low as 1.96). In balance when blocking balls and has many athletic qualities as a catcher. Exciting defensive player, throws an impressive 76 MPH from the catcher position.

PBR Notes: Long Island Prospect Preview (August 8, 2016) Gil, with a thick, solid lower half stands at 5-foot-11 and 180-pounds. He ran a 7.65 60. Offensively- Powerful right-handed hitter who showed plus power to the left and right center gaps. Wide base with feet more than shoulder width apart and a slight crouch. Creates plus bat speed with excellent hip rotation and shows the ability to keep the hands behind his rotation which helps keep the barrel in the hitting zone for an extended time. Recorded an exit velocity of 90 MPH, which was an increase of 6 MPH from February. Defensively-  Fields the ball off the left side of the body. Creates momentum using a drop step. Showed the best arm strength of the day for infielders recording a top velocity of 82 MPH, an increase of 6 MPH from February. Aggressively attacks the ball and creates good hops, funnels the ball to the center of the body, separating hands and getting his feet set quickly to make strong throws. Projects to a corner position at the next level.

PBR Notes: Western PA Top Prospect Games (June 14, 2016) 6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased a line-drive approach with a bat exit velocity of 79 mph and went 1-for-3 at the plate on day two of the event. Middle infielder displayed sound defensive actions with accurate 76 mph arm strength across the diamond. Projects best as a second baseman at the next level with foot speed (7.38 60-yard dash) and average arm strength.

PBR Notes: Florida Unsigned Senior Games (August 27, 2016) The 5-foot-11, 175-pound third baseman showed good hands and a good arm topping out at 81 mph across the diamond. He has a good frame with room to fill out. Offensively, he hits with rhythm and a leg kick. He can get long at time, but has quick hands through the zone. When he stays short to the ball, he shows some pull side pop. He produced with two singles in the game play as well as an exit velocity of 90 mph. As he continues to fill out and be more consistently short to the ball , he should hit with some power at the next level.

PBR Notes: West Virginia Top Prospect Games (August 8, 2015) Sacripanti is a 5-foot-10, 135-pound left handed hitter that starts from a square stance and utilizes a heel raise stride to initiate a direct swing with a bat exit velocity of 74 mph. The junior ran a solid 7.02 60-yard dash and showcased an accurate 78 mph arm from the outfield. Sacripanti will benefit from continued physical maturation and strength gains in future years.

PBR Notes: (September 20, 2015) Sears has broad shoulders and a strong, physical frame. He pitches with repeatable tempo and a strong lower half with good stride length. He has a slight pause at the bottom of the arm swing and moves his arm well from there to get to a high 3/4 arm slot. He hides the ball well behind him and had a heavy fastball at 80-84 miles-per-hour. He had a three strikeout performance largely due to the fact that he is deceptive and has a solid three-pitch mix. His breaking ball is late and has depth at 67-69 MPH; changeup is straight with some angle at 70-71.

PBR Notes: 2015 Southern OH Top Prospect Games (June 3, 2015) 6-foot, 185-pound strong build. In the outfield he takes aggressive routes to the ball. Throws from a long 3/4 slot with 79 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter with a little leg kick to load. Short, compact swing that showed power to his pull side. Registered top exit velocity of 84 mph and was 4.87 down the line. On the mound the right hander as a slow tempo delivery from the stretch. Throws from a short, loose, high-3/4 slot with his fastball sitting 79-80 mph with some arm side run. Breaking ball showed good 11/5 tilt at 65-68 mph and showcased a changeup at 73-74 mph with good arm speed and sink. From behind the plate he shows a quick feet and a little long transfer. Throws from a loose, low-¾ slot with pop times ranging between 2.0-2.15 with 74 mph arm strength from behind the plate to second.
