Dylan CarrollAustin CrossThe Cougars, No. 2 in the most recent Metro News AA Power Rankings,  got a complete game performance from Dylan Carroll, a Marietta College commit, and just enough offense to top Hampshire at home on Wednesday.  Carroll (pictured right) struck out six and walked one in his five-hit outing.

Jefferson opened the scoring in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Austin Cross singled, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt, to third on a ground out and scored on a two-out single by Bailey Dodson.  Hampshire answered back in the top of the 3rd when Carroll issued his lone walk of the game to start the inning to Michael Wilkins.  A single by Eli Hott and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Andrew Clem tied the game at one.

The Cougars added single runs in the 3rd to regain the lead and in the 4th to account for the final score of 3-1.  Hott (2-3) and Cross (2-3, R), a Radford recruit (pictured left), were the only players from either team to register mulit-hit games.  Collin Sulser (4 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 K, 4 BB) took the loss while Parker grace threw two hitless innings of relief with three strikeouts for the Trojans.
