We continue the the Top Ten Stories of 2016 with:
#8 - 2016 Super 60

The 2016 Super 60 saw the most Wisconsin players we have ever had with 10 participants, much of which led to a historic 2016 MLB Draft for the Badger State. Four of the players went on to be drafted this past June. Gavin Lux went in the first round to the Los Angeles Dodgers, Ben Rortvedt went in the second round to the Minnesota Twins, Justin Lavey went in the 39th round to the Chicago White Sox and Nathan Brown went in the 40th round to the New York Yankees.

This Sunday marks the 14th annual Super 60 showcase hosted by Prep Baseball Report. The event has become the most heavily scouted preseason event for potential draft picks in the Midwest. The primary purpose of the Super 60 is to give professional area scouts and crosscheckers a head start on the high school season.

This year's crop of participants is clearly the best representation Wisconsin has ever brought to the Super 60. Player's draft stock will go up and down throughout their careers and sometimes more than just talent is considered in the draft, college commitments, signability, make up, all play a factor in the major league draft. But one thing is clear about Wisconsin's 2016 representation, and that is the talent is there. Wisconsin is bringing the second most representation with 10, just behind Illinois, and don't be surprised if the Badger State is one of the more talked about after this year's Super 60.
