Today, the Prep Baseball Wisconsin staff is continuing its series of All-State teams from the WIAA season—releasing the Second Team next. Yesterday, we published our First Team All-State list to begin the conclusion of an eventful spring.
18 more names highlight the talent from all over the Badger State, as these prospects put together strong spring campaigns to garner Second Team All-State honors. Check out some of their highlights and notes, within.

Wichita State commit. Carlson lands on the Prep Baseball Wisconsin Second Team All-State unit for the second year in a row after he led Hudson to a State Tournament appearance—emerging as their most productive hitter in the process. While always reliable behind the dish, Carlson did some damage at the plate with 30 RBIs and 14 extra base hits. He was a staple in the Raiders’ middle of the order over the course of his prep career—providing a consistent presence and threat with the bat. The right-hander moves well behind the dish, too, throwing out multiple runners in numerous looks. Carlson takes his talents to Wichita State in the fall—looking to maintain this momentum.

Concordia University (WI) commit. Wahlen was a force at the plate for Dominican all season long—batting an impressive .593 over the course of his 2024 campaign. The right-handed hitter showed well throughout the summer of 2023, and continued his hot stretch during the spring. Wahlen had 48 hits and 39 RBIs, good for an OPS of 1.485. His production in the batters box allowed the Knights to put forth a successful season, as they notched a couple of playoff wins before dropping out in the Regional Finals. The senior seemed to be all over the barrel, as he now holds school records for career hits and RBIs. Wahlen also struck out 102 batters on the mound, playing as the ace of this unit all season.

Chance Ruby SS / Wilmot, WI / 2026

Uncommitted. Ruby made some big noise in the Southern Lakes Conference this season—garnering POTY honors in just his sophomore year. Ruby did it all for Wilmot as the heart and soul of their program—accumulating 43 hits and 17 extra base hits in his 2024 campaign. Ruby was a standout on the defensive end as well—taking on the shortstop position and a role on the mound as an underclassmen. The star athlete scored 27 runs from the leadoff spot—reaching base in exactly half of his plate appearances. The competition remained tough in the Southern Lakes all year, and Ruby made himself a name-to-know in not only their grouping of teams, but the state. He currently ranks at No. 11 in the Badger State’s 2026 class, setting up for an intriguing summer on the circuit.

Max Glusick SS / Sun Prairie East, WI / 2025
Uncommitted. Not too many prospects matched the clutch gene that Glusick played with in 2024, as he locked the shortstop position down and did damage at the plate against his foes for Sun Prairie East. The junior was a captain on their unit—executing at a high rate while emerging as a key table-setter in the process. Glusick hit .475 on the year with 48 hits, many of which came in the clutch for the Cardinals in their run to the Division 1 State Championship game. He remained an on-base machine throughout the entirety of the season for Sun Prairie East, all while playing solid, steady defense on the infield. The Cardinals tip their cap on fundamentals and limiting mistakes, a mold Glusick fit perfectly on the varsity stage.

Penn State commit. Yaucher enjoyed a strong regular season—emerging as a staple in the Edgewood program as a junior. The Penn State recruit led the Crusaders to a Division 2 State Championship, much of which having to do with his production at the plate. Before Sectionals, Yaucher tallied 37 RBIs and 32 runs scored, establishing himself as an all-important bat at the top of the order. He was one of the main reasons the Edgewood offense continued to stay hot down the stretch, putting together quality at bats in numerous appearances. Defensively, Yaucher showed off his advanced actions at Fox Cities Stadium—making multiple difficult plays en route to holding up gold in Appleton.

JD Dix SS / Whitefish Bay, WI / 2024

Wake Forest commit. Dix rounds out our group of infielders on the Second Team, as the No. 1 player in Wisconsin’s 2024 class enjoyed a strong season on the diamond to conclude his storied prep career. The switch-hitter capitalized on strikes when he saw him, but still tallied an impressive 36 walks during the season. From the leadoff spot, Dix swiped 33 bags and once again established himself as a table-setter for the 2023 Division 1 State Champions. The senior got hot toward the end of the year for Whitefish Bay, putting constant pressure on opponents with his patience at the plate and speed on the basepaths. In addition to his production, summarized by an OPS of 1.134, Dix returned to the shortstop position during the Blue Dukes’ playoff run—looking the part as one of the top infielders in the Midwest and beyond. Dix has already shown well at the MLB Draft Combine, as he continues to thrive after competing at the varsity level for multiple seasons donning the Whitefish Bay jersey.

Wisconsin-Stevens Point commit. SPASH enjoyed one of the strongest seasons in the WIAA before dropping out in a Sectional Final, as they were only handed three losses in 2024. Part of that success had to do with their offense, which is where Nystrom thrived in the red and black. The outfielder hit .477 with an impressive 43 RBIs—emerging as one of the top producers in Division 1. He notched the Panthers’ school record in RBIs, too. Nystrom only struck out seven time during the season, in addition to hitting for power with 13 extra base hits. He was an intimidating bat at the plate, all while manning an outfield spot for a Power 25 team. Nystrom will stay close to home in going to Wisconsin-Stevens Point next year—joining a prolific offensive program in the WIAC.

Carson Sieler OF / Westosha Central, WI / 2025
Uncommitted. The Westosha Central offense were tough outs all season long, led by the production turned in from Sieler in the leadoff spot. The centerfielder was the table-setter for the Falcons, as he hit .430 with 34 runs scored against tough non-conference competition, all while playing in the Southern Lakes Conference. Sieler was an on-base machine for Westosha Central—leading his team to the Division 1 State Semifinals in the process. Defensively, Sieler provided good looks throughout the season—establishing himself as an intriguing name-to-know in Wisconsin’s 2025 class.

Sam Ostrenga OF / Sun Prairie East, WI / 2024
North Dakota (football) commit. Ostrenga joins Glusick as the second member of Sun Prairie East on this unit, as the outfielder was a staple in the leadoff spot for head coach Jack Marchese and the Cardinals. The senior was known to put together numerous multi-hit games as reported in the Daily Roundup and beyond during the season, as he posted a .436 BA with 41 hits before their three games at the State Tournament. Ostrenga scored 32 times and drove in 28—remaining a key run-producer for a stingy bottom of the order that Sun Prairie East turned in all season. Ostrenga was a quality multi-sport athlete for the Cardinals, as he now makes his way to North Dakota to play football in the fall.

Uncommitted. Smith was an under-the-radar prospect in the 2025 class who provided some pop in a strong lineup for Altoona, as he slots into the Second Team All-State roster after a stellar season. The junior hit .412 with 32 hits, six of which were good for home runs during the regular season. His most noteworthy stat may be the RBIs, as Smith drove in 36 runners to ignite the Railroaders’ offense on a daily basis. He drew a couple of walks and stole some bases in the process—adding to his dynamic as an uncommitted 2025 prospect. Smith is set for a quality summer—establishing himself as a name-to-know in Wisconsin’s incoming senior class.

St. Thomas (MN) commit. Moser was a workhorse for Sussex Hamilton—allowing them to make it to Sectionals after a strong regular season. The right-hander was the ace of the unit, tossing 57.1 innings with a 7-1 record against some tough competition. He won the Player of the Year in the loaded Greater Metro Conference, racking up 92 strikeouts with a 0.86 WHIP to go with it. Moser eliminated Menomonee Falls, a group that had been to the State Tournament for the last three years, in their Regional Final matchup—clutching up when it counted for the Chargers.

Samuel Mommer RHP / St. Thomas More, WI / 2024

Wisconsin-Parkside commit. Mommer took the ball in every big game for St. Thomas More, emerging as one of the top performing pitchers in the greater Milwaukee area. The senior racked up 10 wins on his resume this spring, striking out 95 batters while limiting his opponents to just 14 earned runs in 63.1 innings pitched. In addition to leading his program to another conference championship, Mommer guided the Cavaliers to a Sectionals appearance to cap off his prep career. AFter a couple of injuries to the pitching staff at St. Thomas More, Mommer stepped up in the biggest way possible to keep this program in the Power 25 for a majority of the year. He garnered Prep Baseball Wisconsin Player of the Week honors late in the season—summarizing his importance to this unit throughout 2024.

Easton Bobb LHP / Chippewa Falls, WI / 2024
St. Thomas (MN) commit. Chippewa Falls remained an under-the-radar program to watch out for in 2024, led by the prowess of Bobb on the mound. The former Prep Baseball Future Games participant enjoyed a strong showing on the bump in 2024—tallying 95 strikeouts in just 50.1 innings of work out in the western portion of the state. The Cardinals relied on Bobb throughout the season, and he delivered. The southpaw finished with a 4-2 record, as he only walked 14 batters during his time on the mound. Bobb will take his talents across the Mississippi River in the fall—attending St. Thomas (MN) to continue his baseball career.

Peter Kussow RHP / Arrowhead, WI / 2025
Louisville commit. Kussow came in clutch to add to the depth of a stellar Arrowhead pitching staff—showcasing his best stuff on the mound toward the end of the season. Kussow tallied a complete game win against their rivals in Muskego, in addition to keeping his program in the Division 1 Quarterfinal against Westosha Central in the next week of action. The right-hander has an electric arsenal that led him to a 5-1 record in 46 innings pitched, accumulating one save in the process. His slider has emerged as one of the top individual pitches in Wisconsin’s 2025 class, in addition to an upper-80s-to-low-90s fastball. Kussow competed against some of the best competition in the state this season and succeeded, setting him up well for the summer and beyond as he enters his senior year.

Robert Barrera LHP / Union Grove, WI / 2024
Illinois-Chicago commit. Barrera earned the Prep Baseball Wisconsin Pitcher of the Week during the middle of the regular season, and never skipped a beat after his 21-strikeout performance—leading Union Grove on a lengthy winning streak while earning a Regional Championship. The left-hander struck out an impressive 87 batters in 46 innings of work, nearly posting two strikeouts per frame during his outings. Barrera finished the season with seven wins on his resume—holding a 1.83 ERA as the ace of one of the top programs in the state. The senior concluded a successful prep career on a high note, heading south to Illinois-Chicago to throw for the Flames next season.

South Dakota State commit. The two-way star once again finds his name on an All-State team, as Jirschele was the heart and soul of one of the top Division 2 programs in the state. He concluded a storied prep career in 2024, one that was summarized by his presence in the leadoff spot for Mosinee. Jirshcele held the position for multiple years, as he entered the State Tournament with a .400 BA and 38 hits for the Indians. He was a threat on the basepaths, too. Jirschele tallied 37 stolen bases on the year, getting in scoring position with ease during his time on base. The senior demonstrated his prowess at the plate with a couple of RBIs in front of our staff at the State Tournament a couple of weeks ago—summarizing his status as a star in the 2024 class. Before he came to Appleton, Jirschele was 9-1 with a save on the mound—punching out 73 batters in 54.2 innings. He was a mainstay in their rotation—leading Mosinee to a Great Northern Conference championship and more in his final season of his prep career.

Calvin Moreau SS / Monona Grove, WI / 2026

Uncommitted. Moreau excelled in his sophomore season, competing and dominating some of his opponents as an underclassman. It started at the plate for the No. 3 ranked player in Wisconsin’s talented 2026 class, as Moreau hit .411 with nine doubles and four home runs—showcasing easy, consistent power and bat-to-ball contact in the batters box. Moreau was a staple at the top of the lineup in a talented Monona Grove program, in addition to taking on a key pitching role for the Silver Eagles. The right-hander was a flawless 6-0 with an impressive 0.83 ERA, speaking to his success on the mound as an upside athlete. Moreau only allowed six earned runs against quality competition all season—popping at The Rock early on in the spring as an elite arm on the bump. The sophomore did it all in Monona Grove’s successful 2024 campaign, as he will be primed for an intriguing summer as Wisconsin’s top uncommitted prospect in the 2026 class.

Madison JC commit. Donaldson created problems and frustration for his opponents throughout De Pere’s run to the State Tournament, clutching up with scrappy at bats at the plate while competing on the mound. The Madison JC recruit hit .377 entering Appleton, and his production only went up from the leadoff spot for the Redbirds. He ignited the offense throughout, providing base hits and stolen bases in the process. He only struck out seven times all season—putting pressure on defenses with his elite speed and consistent bat. On the bump, Donaldson sat in the mid-80s with his fastball with a quality arsenal, as he secured a Semifinal victory over Oak Creek to cap off his prep career. Before the State Tournament, Donaldson was 3-0 with a 0.86 ERA in 33 innings of work. He only allowed four earned runs all year—clutching up in the big moments for a De Pere program that dominated WIAA competition all season. For his efforts, he is the second Redbird to earn an All-State honor at the Utility position.
