Today we are highlighting players from the 2025 class for their performance at the recent Mid-Atlantic ProCase at Patriot Park North in Fairfax, VA.

*Please note that some players were omitted from this story due to them being featured in the Helium story on Wednesday.*

Hayden Bynum RHP / OF / Mills Godwin, VA / 2025

"Strong 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame. Short arm action, arm posts up, and works from a three-quarter arm slot with normal effort in the delivery. Down and out with a shorter stride and slightly above average arm speed on the fastball. The fastball was 86-88 mph and worked down in the zone. The slider was more gradual in shape and sat low 70's with a solid feel for the zone."

- Jason Burton (VA/DC Scouting Director)

Trey Campos OF / RHP / GOV STEM ACADEMY AT LANDSTOWN HIGH, VA / 2025

"The velo was down a touch, but it is the end of the summer and nothing that concerns me much. More fastball/slider mix, as he seems more comfortable with those two, but does show an occasional changeup. Low slot, works with effort and intent, quick arm, and when the slider is working, it is a tough look, especially from the right side. He is most succesful when he is landing the slider early in counts and it opens things up for the fastball and later in counts. Athletic makeup, can really defend in center, but more arm at this time."

- Jason Burton (VA/DC Scouting Director)

Patrick Dudley LHP / OF / Atlantic Shores, VA / 2025

"Personally, that as good as I have seen Dudley in some time. The velo was close to where it usually is, but he was in the zone more consistently, the fastball shape was cleaner, and continues to show that the slide is the separator. In addition to a high quality slider, the changeup had makings of a solid third pitch. Substantial difference in the raw spin from the slider to the changeup, going back to back with those two pitches and their general ranged went from 2900~(SL) to 900~(CH). Those two pitches are a tough cover from one to the next and add in some improved control of the fastball, I thought it was a solid overall performance from Dudley."

- Jason Burton (VA/DC Scouting Director)

Nate Hawton-Henley OF / SS / ST JOHNS COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL, VA / 2025

"Hawton-Henley is a Maryland commit and a Future Games alum. Showed some bat to ball ability at the plate and has shown solid hand-eye coordination. Hands are really tight on load and has a different look than when I saw him in the spring. The quality of contact and impact need to take another step in the future, but when I have seen him he has shown a lower swing and miss rate. He is a premium runner and has a chance to stay in center, but definitely has the arm strength and ability to move to any of the three outfield spots. Had a single in game on a pitch up and in where he kept the hands inside and got enough barrel to line a single to right field."

- Jason Burton (VA/DC Scouting Director)

Henry Knighton RHP / SS / St. Christopher's School, VA / 2025

"Knighton's improved velo and stuff allows him to be a frontline arm in the Richmond area next spring and has a chance to compete for some time early once at GW. Has pace to delivery, attacking mindset, and has some of the better command of his arsenal than most other arms in this '25 class."

- Jason Burton (VA/DC Scouting Director)

Carter Lenz RHP / OF / SPOTSWOOD HIGH, VA / 2025

"Lenz had a break out spring for Spotswood as the velocity ticked up. It is a long, lanky frame with still plenty of room to fill. It was a solid outing for Lenz, the velocity wasn't as high as we have seen it but the secondary was there to compensate. The ability to land the secondary for strikes was a positive to take away from the outing."

- Jordan Jones (VA/DC Assistant Scouting Director)

Myles Mayse C / 3B / PDG Academy, VA / 2025

"First interaction and up close and personal look of Mayse. The one thing that jumped out about Mayse last fall and spring at PDG was his ability to hit. Switch hitter, compact stroke from both sides, and has shown the ability to impact the baseball from both sides. I think the swing functions and is cleaner from the left side, but ran a ball out last spring from the right side in front of our staff, so the potential to impact the game from both sides is there. Strong and durable lower half. Watching mannerisms and how he handled himself, Mayse wants to be succesful and expects to be succesful. There is intent to what he does and and just seems locked in from start to finish, a quality that sometimes gets overlooked in this day and age."

- Jason Burton (VA/DC Scouting Director)

Caden Merritt OF / RHP / Gainesville, VA / 2025

"Merritt may have been one of the hottest names coming out of the high school season this past spring. He absolutely tore it up at Gainesville and continued some of that this summer. He is a 6.6~ runner with premium arm strength in the outfield, can impact the baseball at the plate, and is a stolen base threat as well, which he showed on Sunday. There is some intrigue on the mound as well, usually sitting mid-upper 80's, but for me it is a bat first. His athleticism and style of play works best on the positional side. Has a few hard hit balls on the day. Recent Coastal Carolina commit."

- Jason Burton (VA/DC Scouting Director)

Lukas Miller, Jr OF / RHP / Courtland, VA / 2025

"Really strong 6-foot-3, 205-pound frame. Physical left handed bat and corner outfield profile. High and tight set hands, drops on load, and there are some moving parts in the pre-pitch load. Whippy barrel with some uphill tilt to it. Pull side tendency to the swing and has strength to the middle and pull. Had a hard hit single in game to right field."

- Jason Burton (VA/DC Scouting Director)

Jase Mitchell C / 1B / Cape Henlopen , MD / 2025

"If you've followed me long enough, you know left-handed hitting catchers always grab my attention early, and Jase Mitchell certainly fits that mold. Possessing a 6-foot-3, 187-pound frame, the body still has plenty of room to fill with strength added in each look. Whippy bat speed with present strength to the pull side bodes well for pull-side strength to play fairly consistently at the next level. Turned out a 6.98 60-yard while impressing behind the dish as always with 1.89-1.95 pop times."

- Jamie Naill Jr. (MD/DE Scouting Director)

Bryce Neely OF / SS / St. Christophers, VA / 2025

"This was one of Neely's first times out since he was injured last football season. Some things still ring true with the UVA commit, the hand speed, twitch, and athleticism in the swing are still there. Medium leg lift, lands slightly closed, and delivers the barrel with force through the zone. Took some of the loudest BP of the day. Just took a few rounds of BP, but it was good to see him getting back to his old ways. He will be a welcomed addition back to the St. Chris offense and has a chance to catch some eyes this spring."

- Jason Burton (VA/DC Scouting Director)

Nick Newburn RHP / RHP / LANGLEY HIGH, VA / 2025

"Coming off a look at Newburn at 17u National at Lakepoint, there was one thing that you could count on and that was his ability to spin for strikes and that was exactly the case on Sunday. The upper seventies slider is an effective pitch in Newburn's arsenal that works well off of his upper eighties fastball. The 6-foot-5 205-pound righty carved his way through hitters with a three pitch mix. That arsenal will be very important for his upcoming senior season at Langley."

- Jordan Jones (VA/DC Assistant Scouting Director)

Ashton Peshke LHP / OF / Tuscarora, VA / 2025

"Long levered 6-foot-4 frame. Lands closed, full quick arm, and leverages the fastball downhill. The 85-87 mph fastball seemed to play a little quicker out of the hand on some hitters. Struggled with some command early in the outing, but thought he settled a little better the deeper he got. The slider is firm and flashed some potential."

- Jason Burton (VA/DC Scouting Director)

Drew Rybinski C / 1B / Homeschool, MD / 2025

"It's been a pleasure seeing the maturity of Rybinski's game over the years, and the Procase performance was impressive yet again. Above average actions behind the dish, turning out 1.96-1.99 pops out of the crouch with an increase in footwork and transfers. The hit tool has always been explosive and the quickness in the barrel has been consistent, showcasing the ability to impact the baseball at a high rate to the pull side. Strong lower half with rhythm in the hands."

-Jamie Naill Jr (MD/DE Scouting Director)

Kaleb Smith LHP / 1B / Mechanicsville, VA / 2025

"Got a chance to see Smith a pair of times during high school and a few short stints in the summer. Outings were up and down at times, but it is a short, quick arm that has flashed some real velo. Was 85-87 on the day and more control than command. The fastball tended to work to the glove side and he showed a slider/changeup secondary mix. The slider velo was where it usually is, sitting in the upper 70's, with average feel. Plenty of upside and polish left to add for this Liberty commit."

- Jason Burton (VA/DC Scouting Director)

Baylor Storke LHP / Caroline, VA / 2025

"Saw Storke once this summer and it was good to kind of key in on him this past Sunday. Really long arm swing, arm can get behind, but when it is synced up it comes out well. Above average arm speed, mid 80's fastball, and the slider showed some depth when he was able to get it out front."

- Jason Burton (VA/DC Scouting Director)

Jackson Toole 3B / OF / Glen Allen, VA / 2025

"Solid day from Toole. Showed bat to ball skills versus some solid arms, including a line drive that was smoked back up the middle. He had seen a handful of pitches right above the zone and got another fastball up and did not miss it. Got his hands up and matched plane. Has enough arm for third base, depending on the level of play, the defensive position could range from corner outfield, to first base, or potentially third."

- Jason Burton (VA/DC Scouting Director)

Aaron Van Tuyle RHP / OF / Heritage (Leesburg), VA / 2025

"Had the chance to see Van Tuyle again and it seemed just like another day at the office for him. He brings a bulldog mentality on the mound that just breeds confidence and energy that leads to his success. He was relentless with attacking hitters with his repertoire and making quick work of it. The upper eighties fastball blew by hitters, then was putting them away with the secondary. The Richmond commit looks determined to keep it going strong going forward."

-Jordan Jones (VA/DC Assistant Scouting Director)

Jake Wise RHP / Benedictine College Preparatory, VA / 2025

"While it wasn't a typical Jake Wise shove day seeing him going the distance late in a game, you could still see the stuff that he typically brings on those days. He brings a up tempo delivery with his competitiveness that is relenteless at attacking hitters and sending them back to the dugout as quickly as possible. He showed a three pitch mix which includes his changeup that is effective to both left handed and right handed hitters. He worked deeper into counts but still found a way to create weak contact and get outs. You can expect the Hokies commit to be a big part of the Benedictine's success this spring."

-Jordan Jones (VA/DC Assistant Scouting Director)
