2024 TX Upperclass State Games: Pitcher Analysis

TEXAS - Over the weekend of September, 20 - September, 22, we hosted the Upperclass State Games at Weatherford College where we saw some of the top 2025 & 2026 players in the State. The weekend kicked off on Friday night with a workout for position players. They ran 60's, threw from defensive positions, and ended the night with BP. Saturday and Sunday consisted of gameplay where the pitchers had their TrackMan data recorded. This event featured a strong group of players from top to bottom and that showed throughout the entire weekend. Today, we take a look at the scouting reports from each pitcher that threw over the weekend.

Jordan Andrews 1B / LHP / Liberty Hill, TX / 2026
Positional Profile: 1B/LHP LHS…can develop into pitch ability, command/control LHS. FB will add velocity in future, like FB with add life and ability to work in/out. Shows ability to spin baseball. Slider has depth to finish, will develop into K pitch. CB can be firmed, spin present. Change is really good 4th option. LHH/1B…Solid defender with glove at 1st. Nice approach to hit with swing adjustment opportunities improving hit ability.
Body: 6-0, 207-pounds. Solid build with thickness to middle/lower. Good frame to add strength in future.
Delivery: 3rd base side start, side step rocker. Slight cross step with toe slightly closed. Uses lower 1/2 well. Nice job of getting over front leg with chest. Stiff legged vault finish, rotates around stride leg.
Arm Action: LH. Full circle, works well. TQ/LTQ slot. Fair arm speed present. Solid finish.
FB: T84, 81-83 mph. Solid down plane, arm side tail. Command/control within K zone be firmed. Would like more life developed. Currently, leaves too many balls up in zone. T2134, 2028 average rpm.
CB: 67-75 mph. Solid ability to spin baseball, TQ tilt with ability to manipulate action. Solid pitch in future. T2271, 1761 average rpm.
SL: 71-74 mph. Solid build with ability to land pitch. Depth present to finish, can develop into swing and miss pitch. T2347, 2259 average rpm.
CH: 71-71 mph. Tail/sink with fair deception, limited use. T2134, 2134 average rpm.

Positional Profile: LHP/1B LHP…with some upside present. Looking for added velo in future. With ability to develop up/down, can be effective pitch although lacking in big velo. CB shows nice spin, can work to develop ability to manipulate action. Change will be avg.
Body: 5-11, 173-pounds. Good build/frame to add strength.
Delivery: Stretch only, nice job of using lower 1/2. Near middle of rubber start with down line stride, lands slightly closed.
Arm Action: LH. Cutoff circle with some length to backside. Fair arm speed. LTQ slot with crossbody finish.
FB: T84, 81-83 mph. Strike thrower. Fair plane. Tail, tail/sink increasing to arm side. Quality pitch when down in zone. With lower slot, should have some success pitching at top of zone with any increase in velocity. T2059, 1958 average rpm.
CB: 68-70 mph. Shows nice spin, inconsistent release point. Sweep/slurvy type action. Firm release point, work to develop ability to manipulate action adding tilt. T2297, 2292 average rpm.

CH: 75-76 mph. Fade with sink action, decent deception present. Will develop into solid pitch. T1706, 1538 average rpm.

Positional Profile: 3B/RHP RHS…Like the upside to velocity in future. FB when commanded is tough with angle created from slot and delivery. Like the upside to CB with development of ability to manipulate. DNS 3rd pitch. Fun to watch develop on mound. RHH/Inf…Will get stronger. Upside to bat/power, shows ability to impact baseball. Will be steady defender in future.
Body: 6-4, 223-pounds. Good build/frame to add strength. Will have good, physical build in future.
Delivery: 1st base side start with cross step delivery. Spinoff finish. Good job of using lower 1/2 in delivery.
Arm Action: RH. Full circle, works well. TQ slot, arm speed present. Crossbody finish.
FB: T89, 87-88 mph. Will throw harder. FB has avg plane, quality FB when thrown middle to glove side with angle created from delivery and arm action. Early in outing struggled to get to glove side, made adjustment, was solid. T2171, 1964 average rpm.
CB: 73-76 mph. CB shows short breaker limited depth. Will develop ability to manipulate action in future. Lengthening/shortening action. T2038, 2011 average rpm.

Positional Profile: SS/RHP RHS… solid stuff that will continue to improve. FB will gain velo, ability to be effective in all quadrants as he develops feel. CB has quality spin, flashes quality, will be swing and miss pitch in future. Change feel present. Good stuff.
Body: 5-11, 157-pounds. Good frame/build to add strength in future. Moves well.
Delivery: Simple delivery. Side step rocker, high knee lift, nice job of using lower 1/2. Works down slope, gets over front leg with upper body, good finish.
Arm Action: RH. Full circle with some length. Arm speed present, will continue to improve. TQ slot with crossbody finish.
FB: T88, 84-87 mph. Solid FB showing carry. Quality down plane, ability to pitch up in zone with effectiveness. Arm side tail present, baby comeback life to glove side. Velo will continue to improve. T2545, 2274 average rpm.

Positional Profile: 3B/RHP Like the upside. Physically will have good build. FB will continue to develop, will throw harder, like the down plane, opportunity for him to develop ability to work up in zone. CB/SL look to be similar, short breaker with down action. Change will be avg pitch in future, presently slows arm hindering deception and command with front side running away from arm. Around zone today. LHH/Inf, OF…will get stronger. Tools present with opportunities for adjustments to continue to improve. Upside. Good player.
Body: 6-4, 193-pounds. Good, projectable body, lanky. Frame/build to add strength, will have good build in future.
Delivery: Side step rocker. Good job of using lower 1/2 in delivery. Heel lander with online stride. Can improve getting over front side more.
Arm Action: RH. Full circle with length. Avg arm speed. HTQ slot. Good finish out front.

Positional Profile: LHP/OF LHS…Upside. Arm works fine, arm speed will increase. FB has nice attributes, will be able to work up/down, some life present. Slider can be developed. Change will be nice pitch in mix. Strike thrower, can start. LHH/OF defensively steady OF, arm effectiveness can improve with adjustments. Hitting has opportunities for changes to be more efficient and improving future bat/power combo.
Body: 6-3, 192-pounds. Good build/frame for future strength. Well proportioned, will have good build as he matures and gains strength.
Delivery: Stretch only delivery, 3rd base side start with slight cross step. Nice job of using lower 1/2, gets over front leg with chest, spin off finish.
Arm Action: LH. Full circle with length, fair arm speed. TQ slot with semi crossbody finish.
FB: T88, 83-87 mph. Solid strike thrower with FB, shows ability to work both sides of the plate. Arm side tail present. Nice down plane, shows some carry up in zone. T2240, 2125 average rpm.
SL: 76-77 mph. Inconsistent release. Downer type, opportunity to develop ability to manipulate action. Will firm. T2102, 1998 average rpm.

Positional Profile: RHP/3B RHP with opportunities to firm delivery. Arm works fine showing arm speed, look for firming of release and arm action. FB shows quality when located in zone, will add velo. CB shows quality at times, like FB release point needs firming. Change will be solid pitch. Starter stuff in future with adjustments.
Body: 6-1, 212-pounds. Solid build with some thickness to lower. Will add strength for durable build.
Delivery: Works fast. Side step rocker. High knee lift with inward turn, nice job of using lower 1/2. Heel lander with open toe, spin off finish.
Arm Action: RH. LTQ slot. Full circle with length. Solid finish with some recoil. Arm drags at times, low elbow occasionally.

Positional Profile: LHP/OF LHS showing upside. Competes on the mound. Stuff will continue to improve with strength and maturity. Likes to work fast, has to develop feel for when to slow things done and gather himself. Will have solid 3 pitch mix in future.
Body: 5-8, 177-pounds. Solid build with width to shoulders. Opportunity to add strength present.
Delivery: Works fast, must develop ability to slow down when needed. Side step rocker with slight cross step delivery. Does a good job of using lower 1/2. Good job of getting chest over front leg.
Arm Action: LH. Full circle with some length to backside, works well, shows arm speed present. LTQ slot.
FB: T88, 84-87 mph. FB command varies. Arm shows tailing action. Some carry up in zone. Development of FB command will be crucial to future success. T2225, 2052 average rpm.

Positional Profile: 1B/LHP 1B/LHH…solid approach to hit productive AB's and hard contact. Opportunities there if he ends up struggling with velocity at next level. Defensively can improve footwork and hands to develop in nice 1st baseman. LHP…must develop command of stuff. Develop ability to FB in/out, adding life. CB has some good attributes, showing ability to manipulate action, tightening spin and working to throw harder will help with effectiveness. Change is developing.
Body: 6-2, 213-pounds. Solid build with some thickness to body. Can add strength.
Delivery: Side step rocker, 3rd base side start. Online stride. Nice job of getting over front leg with upper body, solid finish.
Arm Action: LH. Glove tap. Full circle with length. LTQ slot with good finish out front. Fair arm speed.
FB: T82, 79-82 mph. FB must be located for success. Likes to work ball glove side, slight tail present. Needs to work FB both sides of plate and develop life for success. T1945, 1774 average rpm.

Body: 6-1, 196-pounds. Good build/frame to add strength. Will have good physical build as he matures and adds strength.
Delivery: Side step rocker, solid job of using back leg. Stride leg lands middle of slope, online. Does a good job of getting over front side. Good finish.

Body: 5-11, 184-pounds. Good frame/build to add strength in future.
Delivery: Side rocker, nice job of using lower 1/2, gets over front side. Slight cross step delivery throwing from 3rd base side. Slight head dunk.
Arm Action: LH. Full circle works fine. Fair arm speed. OH slot. Solid finish. Arm drags at times, causing arm side miss. Some effort present.
