Prep Baseball All-American Game: True two-way tools for Billings. A 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame that shows some strength and athleticism throughout. At the plate, the Tennessee commit uses a rhythmic right-handed swing that incorporates a bigger leg kick and shows good hip-to-shoulder separation. Above-average bat speed with a bat path that creates loft, Billings is able to create easy pull-side pop that can easily be plus raw power. On the mound, Billings shows ability to deep into his lower half with huge extension out of a lower, three-quarters slot. Fastball sits 88-90 with some feel to spin and good carry through the zone. Late life at the top of the zone creates swing-and-miss. Curveball looks like a potential out-pitch in the mid-70s with consistent 11-5 break that creates huge depth from a low slot and true feel to spin (Avg. 2769). Present feel for a firm mid-80s changeup that will get heavy arm-side fade.

The freshman acted anything but like a freshman against Denton Guyer on Friday night. In a game that saw Prosper get done early, Billings came up big when they needed it most. He had a big hit to chip into the lead earlier in the game, but then he came up with the bases loaded in a tie game and delivered a walk off Grand Slam. He waited until he got a pitch up that he could elevate and hit a majestic blast over the Green Monster. The Tennessee commit has been asked to do a lot, batting in the middle of a talented Prosper Lineup, and he continues to come up big.

There was a lot of excitement to see our #1 player in the state for the ‘25 class, and he didn’t disappoint. He played OF before hopping on the mound. He had some good swings and definitely looked like he belonged. On the mound, he was mostly 86-87 and T88. He threw predominantly fastballs and fared well against some of Coppell’s better hitters. He really has a feel for his changeup and a high spin breaking ball to round out his arsenal. If he can throw those consistently in the zone, he could really lengthen the Prosper Pitching Staff.

Billings entered the event as the #1 player in the state for the 2025 class and he did nothing but cement his status in this setting. At the plate Billings shows elite bat speed for his age. Every swing he takes has intent and shows some real power potential. Behind the plate he was consistently 2.01-2.03 with his pop times. Where he really stood out on Monday was on the bump. He Sat in the 85-87 mph range with his fastball. The spin on the fastball was in the 2300’s. He showed great feel for his change up and threw it with conviction and the same arm speed as his fastball. He threw a Curveball and Slider on Monday, and they both have a chance to be an above average pitch. He threw both of them with high spin nearing 2700 rpm’s. Billings continues to make his case for one of the best players in the country for the 2025 class.
