East Tennessee Fall ID: Quick Hits
November 14, 2023
JOHNSON CITY, TN - The East Tennessee Fall ID was held on Sunday, November 12th at TVA Credit Union Stadium in Johnson City, TN. This event was an open event that consisted of players from the 2024-2029 classes from Volunteer state. Players went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to get numbers and metrics on TrackMan. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.
Kicking off our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look back at some of the top performers from the event.

QUICK HITS
Nathan Eisfelder OF / 3B / PROVIDENCE ACADEMY, TN / 2025Former PBRFG23 participant over the summer, The Tennessee commit put on an absolute show during his BP round with easy swings that produced eye popping exit velocities. Virtually unheard of outside of Johnson City coming into the summer, Eisfelder has quickly rose to #2 ranked player in Tennessee for the ‘25 class. The hit tool is for real and has plus written all over it from consistency, ability, power potential and control. The ball just comes off his bat differently with game changer attributes written all over him. For his round, he hit a total of about 8 HR’s out of a deep ballpark with dimensions 330 ft in the corners and 400 ft to dead center to go along a 15-20 ft wall. To say it was impressive will not be doing it justice. He is someone that I believe has high draftable potential before getting to college. The 6 foot 1 and 195 lb prospect comes with strength currently and will continue to fill out into a very well balanced frame. Speed is continuing to climb as he clocked in the low 7.1 seconds in the sixty, however he plays quick and makes rangy strides. BP ended with an average of 95.5 mph EV, while maxing out at 102 mph EV with multiple balls batted over 400 ft. This is an extremely high follow kid and someone we identified back in early June before his name started making more of a presence on the national scene, where it will continue to garner more and more attention and rightfully so. |
Rinaldo Matti C / SS / Providence Academy, TN / 2025
Rankings StateRank: 45 / POS: 7
Another former PBRFG23 who showcased this summer at our Top Prospects event continues to get better and shows a lot of ability behind the plate, as well as in the box. The catching prospect comes in with a thick frame on the strong side at 5 foot 11 and 200 pounds with plenty of room for added strength. Clocked 1.98-2.00 with easy 1 hops and line drive shots to second base with an upper 70’s mph arm behind the dish. Standout at the plate maintained a very balanced level swing for hard low line drive shots maxing out with a 100 mph EV to go alongside an average of 91 mph EV. Could look to lift more at times as power is clearly present. Athletic for size with a 7.20 sixty, while leading the entire group with the fastest average bat speed in the group at 73.6 mph. Uncommitted prospect that has plenty of talent to play at the D1 level and someone worth following this upcoming spring season. |
Nate Stoots 3B / RHP / Science Hill , TN / 2026‘26 class prospect with physical size at 6 foot 1 and 185 pounds that will continue to gain mass and size. Showcased extremely well and someone that I must get eyes out on again. Not a burner at the moment but has a quick first step and acceleration when covering ground. Infielder with a sure glove to both his forehand and backhand with smooth and seamless transitions from ball to glove. Moves really well defensively and shows ability to work through the baseball with a plus arm in the middle to upper 80’s, while topping 90 mph across the diamond. Metric machine in many facets of the game, especially when it came to hitting. Produced 27 G’s of force on his rotational acceleration, which was extremely advanced and impressive, while being a true indicator of potential hitting ability in higher levels of the game. Tied for peak hand speed for the group at 25 mph, while producing a few lower 90’s mph EV with a top of 95 mph. Sure SO starter on a Science Hill team that contended for a regional title before missing the state tournament last season. Offers upside with the bat and glove and a high level follow going into the spring. |
Colton Baron RHP / OF / Siegel, TN / 2026
Rankings StateRank: 75 / POS: 10
‘26 class prospect that had an impressive showing in multiple facets of the event. Listed at 6 foot 1 and 175 pounds with athletic actions and attributes, he is one that should steadily continue to get better in this game. Son of a former professional ballplayer, Baron comes with a mature and confident persona that is clearly present and translates directly into his game. 3rd in the overall group in terms of average EV during BP with 86 mph, while closing his round with a batted ball distance of 357 ft that correlated with a 91 mph EV hit. 88 mph arm from the outfield with low line drive darts to home that initially sparked curiosity with the arm that did not disappoint. FB sat 85-86 mph with 2100-2200 RPM’s that fired from a high leveraging angle that carried both hop and run in the zone. CB showed true wipeout shape at 69-70 mph in the 2000 rpm range that had both horizontal movement and vertical depth that should rack up strikeouts at the HS level. Changeup may have been best pitch based on ability and metrically at 77-79 mph with killed spin in the 1500 rpm range that had late biting fade at 12.5 inches on average. Should be a real weapon to both lefties and righties and a pitch he should continue to trust and throw more and more. Showed true pitch cluster differential on pitch shapes and is a really high follow on the bump moving forward as he was unaware to us before the event but really helped himself going forward with his showing. |
Parker Davis C / RHP / Alcoa High School, TN / 2026‘26 RHP/C had a strong showing with the arm and impressed us with the potential that we saw clearly present with Davis. Listed at 6 foot 1 and 170 lb and comes with a lean, mobile frame that should continue to add good strength and mass fairly easily. Produced solid pop times between 2.00-2.03 with quick feet and a short smooth arm action that created whip in the mid to upper 70’s. May offer the most upside on the hill where he looked polished and flashed feel for each offering. FB came in between 81-84 mph with 2200+ RPM’s that carried horizontal run in the mid teens on average that will absolutely tear right handed hitters up. CB showed signs of extreme competitiveness at 69-72 mph with plus spin for his age with 2500-2600 rpm’s that went alongside 19 inches of average HZM and 8 inches of downward VB for a beautiful shape pitch. CH showed some feel in the 1500-1600 rpm range at 78-80 but blended pretty heavily with FB and must look to continue to kill velocity while maintaining pronation through release of that pitch. Shows potential for a three pitch mix and offers confidence to go with it. High follow kid that should eat up a lot of innings this season when not catching. |
Josh Marmo OF / 2B / Science Hill, TN / 2024
Rankings StateRank: 146 / POS: 30
‘24 prospect committed to play at Lincoln Memorial comes in at 5 foot 10 and 180 lbs with a stocky and athletic frame that should fill out as he goes into his spring season. 7.03 runner in sixty with faster times to come. Strong hands with present strength as he blasted a few home runs over a deep field. Effortless power from the left side coming away with a few low 90’s EV with a max of 95 EV on a deep shot HR that went a total of 358 ft to right center field. Offers even percentage on line-drive and flyball rate with loud barrels. Covers ground extremely easy as he has quick burst off the line toward the ball while sinking his hips nicely. Mid to upper 70’s mph arm strength that will continue to climb in my opinion based on the profile build and athleticism. Starter on a really good Science Hill team looking to break into the state playoffs this season and good follow. |
