Future Games Lookback: Team PA Pitching Staff

Though the offense ultimately stole the show for Team PA, a close second was the pitching staff, who shut down two talented offenses on their way to a pair of victories. The aforementioned performances from ‘24 RHP Ian White, Jr., ‘24 RHP Jeremy Fallon, ‘24 RHP Cade O’Leary, and ‘24 RHP Tucker DeLisle gained national attention, while other notable contributors accounted for the 11 total arms that made the trip to Lakepoint Sports in Emerson, GA.

Below we will touch on the entire staff as a whole, some deeper scouting notes, and what made each pitcher effective during a memorable week for the Keystone state.


  • ‘24 RHP Matthew Hamilton (Friends Central), a 6-foot-1, 170lb strike thrower, held 85-86 mph with a low release height that created swing and miss up in the zone. A quick, compact arm showed signs of future velocity with clean extension over the front side, spinning a quality 67-69 mph CB on an 11/5 tilt. Pitched around some trouble and recorded 2K over two innings on the mound. 

    • Was 85-87, T88 mph in his sharpest outing we had eyes on this past spring vs. Pope John Paul II; plenty of balance and the ball comes out. 


  • ‘24 RHP/3B Sam Greer (Central Bucks West) displayed some effort on the bump with a future power profile, using a longer H ¾ arm-action to work downhill on an upper-80’s FB (T89) that jumped up 3 mph in his second inning. Operated with a strong lower half and slower, momentum-building pace, which allowed for deception on a 65-68 mph CB for strikes; 6-0, 190lbs with a bulldog mentality.

    • We also saw Greer hit a prolific backside HR to LCF this past spring, which is his sweet spot offensively.


  • ‘24 3B/RHP Jonah Richardson (Boiling Springs) rebounded after his Day 1 performance, staying over the mound in the delivery with natural cut on a high-spin 84-86, T88 mph FB. Earned the save over Team Midwest in game three using late arm-speed on a 75-77 mph SL up to 2350rpms. The physical two-way prospect gained clean hip/shoulder separation with some deception at footstrike, tough on hitters when commanding the glove-side corner. 

    • Took a couple big swings during gameplay (RHH) with mid-70’s bat-speed and acceleration through the zone.


  • Few arms left Georgia with more traction than ‘24 RHP Michael Devenney (Downingtown East), who stands a wiry-athletic 6-foot-4, 180lbs with ultra projection. The righty cruised through two scoreless of one-hit ball, adding multiple strikeouts on a tunneled 72-75 mph CB that changed plane. Reached back for a couple bullets in the upper 80’s, T88, and settled into the 84-86 mph range with legitimate feel for the zone. Carved under the hands of right-handed hitters and wrinkled in a fading 75-77 mph CH. An easy choice to continue rising in the class. 


  • It was a quick first inning from ‘24 RHP Austin Long (South Western) at Lakepoint, setting down three of the first four unscathed on a muggy, hot day. Opened with a commanded 81-85 mph FB that showed primarily 84-85 mph out of the gate, battling through a tough New Jersey lineup with regular effort. The athletic 6-foot-2, 182-pounder mixed an advanced 70-73 mph CB that clipped a 2300 on one of his two strikeouts. 

    • The South Western product features both a quick ¾ arm-action and room to fill, having been up to 87.6 mph in June at the PA State Games.


  • ‘25 RHP Christian Lucarelli (Riverside) varied effectiveness around the plate, getting on top of hitters with his usual up-tempo delivery that rode an 87-88 mph FB (2400) to the letters. Challenged up in the zone through some bad luck at a durable 6-0, 179lbs, landing a few developing 70-73 mph breakers in advantage counts. Lucarelli was one of the more dominant arms at the PA State Games a few months ago, striking out 7/10 batters faced. ‘24 RHP Gavin Wray (Penncrest) maintains upside at 6-foot-4, 185lbs with a full body effort that drives a whippy arm over the front side with leverage. The righty was more low to mid-80’s at the Future Games and battled command at times, but was able to flash the full arsenal including a quality 76-78 mph CH with short action.

    • Wray held 84-86, T87 mph at the PA State Games and 86-88, T89 mph at the Summer Open in Philly.


  • ‘24 RHP Jeremy Fallon (Souderton) took home “Player of the Game” honors after two innings of dominance vs. Team Midwest, notching the start for Team PA. The quick-twitch thrower featured power stuff and above-average body control in a stocky, muscular 5-foot-11, 192lb frame, hiding a razor-sharp 74-76 mph SL (2500) on the backside before closing the gap with electric arm-speed. The ticket was an 87-90, T91.5 mph FB that did what it wanted to in the strike zone, creating weak contact for outs when not dodging barrels for two of his three K’s. 

    • Fallon was more 86-88 earlier this summer, gaining an additional 2 mph of floor and 4 mph of top velocity; hard worker off the field.


  • One of the highest ceilings in the state belongs to ‘24 RHP Cade O’Leary (Central Catholic). The tall right-hander emerged a winner at the Future Games with easy command of both sides and late tilt on a steep 88-90 mph FB with occasional riding life when elevated. Very short to long in the delivery, which made both a manipulated 75-78 mph CB and an advanced mid-80’s CH with late depth effective out of the hand. All arms and legs at 6-foot-4, 175lbs with a sharp, unfazed mentality, guiding through any traffic on the base-paths.


  • ‘24 RHP Ian White Jr. (Haverford School) kept Team Illinois quiet with a similar-looking 85-87 mph FB and mid-70’s biting SL, both advanced spin offerings. Plenty of intent to get down the mound at 6-foot-2, 185lbs and might be the next Team PA arm to grab a 90 with a laser-focused workout regiment. Enjoyed two scoreless out of a low ¾ slot in Georgia, navigating some pressure/baserunners during his first frame with a quick move to the plate and alternated “slide step” to change rhythm.


  • Recent West Virginia recruit, ‘24 RHP Tucker DeLisle (Springside Chestnut Hill) made leverage pitches in even counts, unwinding towards the mitt with long, whippy arm-action from a ¾ slot. DeLisle’s above-average wingspan created a heavy angle in on righties, giving an 87-90, T91 mph FB extra life halfway to the plate. We’ve seen the SL develop first hand, going from a below average pitch just a year ago to now a weapon in the low-to-mid 70’s. Grabbed 2300rpms on his best one via Trackman, a strikeout to left-pocket side with 2 strikes. Showed off some confidence and mound presence throughout, regardless of result.
