A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average

Knee Extension Velo
The angular velocity of the front knee straightening after foot plant, which provides indicators of velocity potential. Measured in degrees per second.
Deception

Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
Physical: Elastic 6-foot-4, 180lb frame with high-level projection and feel to pitch.
Pitching: RHP. Starts at a 45 off the far left corner of the mound; taller leg-lift at the stack, using momentum to extend down the slope and get off the backside. Plenty of balance in the delivery from a loose H ¾ slot that repeated cleanly on an 84-87, T88 mph FB (2276). Mixed a 69-73 mph SL to the glove-side and killed spin on a mid-70’s CH (1654). Bumped up in velocity during his 2nd inning of work.
6/15/21
Physical: Lengthy, projectable 6-foot-4, 175lb frame with a high-waisted look on the bump.
Pitching: RHP - Started off the far left side of the rubber using a short side-rocker into a slight back-leaning stack position with balance; got down the slope with pace and separation creating smooth arm-action through a H ¾ slot. FB ranged from 79-81 mph with some arm-side run and carry to the bottom of the zone, holding strikes at a 40% rate. Mixed a 71-73 mph CB with more horizontal bite than depth, missing barrels when ahead in counts.

Demonstrated a middle of the field approach during batting practice with ability to pepper the LCF gap, recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 83 mph according to Trackman Baseball / should continue to see exit velocity increase as he adds strength to the frame. Defensively: The shortstop featured athleticism throughout the movements with rangy actions in either direction. Played down and through the baseball at the fielding window with a soft glove hand off the left side of his body, accurate high ¾ arm-slot with whip through release. High level defender with pace to his play.
