We would like to thank all who participated in The PBR New England 2020 Scout Day: Rhode Island Red Devils. This was a great opportunity for 2021-2024 prospects to be put on college recruiting boards. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. Below we have the complete statistical results from the event as well as the top performers across various different categories.

2020 Scout Day: Rhode Island Red Devils - Quick Hits

  • Avery Acuna, 2022- A right-handed hitting middle infielder, shows plus actions and feel defensively, arm was clocked at 75 mph. At the plate, line drive approach, good runner, ran a 7.02 60-yard dash.
  • Cesar Jesus Aguasvivas Garcia, 2022- A right-handed hitting shortstop, very good defensively, with a pro arm, clocked at 89 mph. Hard contact at teh plate, with lift and loft. Pro Potential.
  • Raynal Cruz, 2022- A right-handed hitter, more of a front foot pull side hitter. Good feet around the bag, with a solid glove at 1st base.
  • Javier Gomez, 2022- A right-handed hitting outfielder, a plus runner at 6.82, long athletic strides, average arm. The hands work through the zone, more in there once he gets the legs working as well.
  • Ben Johnson, 2023- A left-handed hitter, level path, more slap to middle/opposite field. Will need to add strength.
  • Kyler Lorenz, 2024- A right-handed hitter, showed very well on both sides. A young frame, hands work through hitting zone, line drives to both gaps. Defensively, real good actions, hands and feet work well together. Going to be very good.
  • Adonis Medina, 2024- A right-handed hitting outfielder, one of the better players that we’ve seen this past fall/summer. Showing major tools, ran a 6.66, threw an easy 86 mph from outfield, and swing works a more pull approach with pop.
  • Anthony Mena, 2023- A right-handed pitcher, huge frame. Arm action is clean, working from a ¾ slot. The fastball touched 74 mph, with more in there. Needs to add arm strength.
  • Carlos Merejo, 2024- A right-handed hitting catcher, displayed monster power, 102 exit velocity to all fields. Showed a big arm behind the plate, moving well for a bigger player. Serious prospect. 
  • Diego Ramirez, 2022- A right-handed hitter, showing good pop to pull side, had an exit velocity of 86 mph. Ran well, a 7.09 sixty, has tools.
  • Richard Segura, 2022- A right-handed hitter, short, compact swing, middle to opposite field approach. The exit velocity was clocked at 90 mph.
  • Jared Vadeboncoeur, 2022- A right-handed hitting catcher, plus pop in the hands, exit of 92 mph, more pull approach, showed solid actions and arm behind the plate.
  • Kaidyn Mitchell, 2022- A right-handed hitting middle infielder, more middle to opposite, slap approach. 
  • Michael Salzillo, 2023- A right-handed hitting, swing is smooth, hands work, all fields approach, exit velocity of 88 mph, throws very well from outfield with more in there. Look for him to be a guy at some point.
