Rock Grove will play Mercer in District 10 semifinal action today at 6:30 at Slippery Rock University. The Orioles are looking to build upon last year's state tournament appearance. Key to a PIAA run will be junior RHP/SS Travis Perry. At 6-foot-7 Perry strikes an imposing figure on the hill. In his most recent outings his fastball has sat 88-89. While not your traditional size for a shortstop, Perry has showcased his two-way abilities this spring by handling duties in the middle of the infield when not pitching while also belting nine home runs to go along with his 26 RBI.

8/4/16 6-foot-7, 200-pound primary pitcher sat 83-85 while topping at 87 mph from a high 3/4 arm slot. Gets downhill well and showed solid command of four pitches during three scoreless innings of work. Advanced feel for changeup with developing curveball/slider breaking ball combo. Allowed one hit while striking out four. Athletic for his size (7.30 60-yard dash). Showed some present power from his right-handed swing (93 mph bat exit velocity).
6/15/16 6-foot-7, 200-pound primary pitcher impressed sitting 84-86 while pounding the zone from a high 3/4 arm slot. Also showed solid feel for 70 mph curveball with 11/5 rotation and a 72 mph changeup thrown at fastball arm speed with some late sink. Worked three innings allowing one run on three hits while striking out five.
6/17/15 Tall, gangly frame with room to add strength (6-foot-3, 180-pounds). Pitched out of high three-quarter slot with some hook and wrap out of the glove. Fastball sat 79-81 and was complemented by a big-breaking 11/5 curveball at 65-67 and a change-up at 64-65.
6/17/15 6-foot-3, 180-pound right-handed hitter who is a solid prospect as a primary pitcher. Hit from a square stance with minimal stride. Swing had some length with barrel whip, while he kept his body and head still throughout. Showcased a 92-mph exit velocity and 74-mph arm strength during workout (ran FB up to 81 in game). Showed solid actions while fielding the ball deep.
