This one-of-a-kind event will feature the best uncommitted Class of 2024 prospects and select 2025 prospects from our 40-plus state coverage area and Canada. In years past, more than 330 college coaches from all over the country were in attendance. For a complete preview of Team Missouri’s squad, click HERE.
Yesterday all position players from Team Missouri participated in the Future Games workout, where they displayed their skill-sets in front of an abundance of college coaches. We’ve broken down each player below and highlighted some statistical leaders as well:
TAKEAWAYS
+ Perhaps the day’s biggest winner was INF Grant Hollister (Blue Springs South, 2024). Hollister’s BP round was the loudest of any Team Missouri prospect, as he repeated hard contact off his right-handed barrel, averaging 91.9 mph and 321 feet per batted ball. Hollister’s peak exit velocity (97.9 mph) and furthest batted ball (389 ft.) were amongst Missouri’s highest marks from the event. Hollister’s strength translated to the infield, where the 5-foot-11, 175-pound infielder popped a 90 mph max on his hardest throw. A potential middle-of-the-order bat at the next level, Hollister will certainly be one to watch as the week progresses.

+ C Xander Schmitt (Lafayette, 2024) has done nothing but impress us throughout the summer and that momentum kept rolling through LakePoint yesterday. He started his day off yesterday with a 6.90 60-yard dash and he jumped 30.4 inches on the vertical test, showcasing impressive athleticism in general but especially for his position. Schmitt generated easy juice from the right side in BP, hammering a baseball at 97 mph with an 89.3 mph average throughout his round. His knack for the barrel is evident, as he posted a high sweet-spot percentage (80%) mark amongst Team Missouri’s players. Schmitt’s strength translated behind the dish, bumping a 79 mph max from the crouch and regularly popping in the 1.88-to-1.95 range. A toolsy 5-foot-11, 173-pound athlete, Schmitt is one of the top prospects on Team Missouri.

+ OF Kenton Unruh (Staley, 2024) put up an impressive showing in all aspects throughout his workout. The 6-foot, 185-pound outfielder ran a 6.77 60-yard dash, one of the faster marks on Team Missouri, and he followed that up by averaging 88.6 mph off his barrel in BP, peaking at 95 mph. Unruh’s furthest batted ball traveled 342 feet, per TrackMan, and his ability to generate hard contact while driving the baseball (271 ft. average) is impressive. From the outfield, Unruh’s 88 mph high led all Missouri outfielders.

Peaked at 88 mph defensively, too. pic.twitter.com/H6wELShnlv
+ Few in Missouri possess the present power and future upside blend that OF Brady Picarelli (Eureka, 2024) does. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound physical specimen oozes athleticism, running a 6.92 60-yard dash at his size and also jumping 31.6 inches in our vertical jump test. Picarelli repeatedly elevated the baseball from the left side throughout BP, peaking at 94.6 mph off the barrel and sending one deep over the right field fence at 343 feet towards the end of his round. Given his physically gifted and athletic profile, Picarelli’s ceiling on the diamond is relatively high.
LHH OF Brady Picarelli (Eureka, 2024) stands at a physical 6-foot-2, 190-pounds with room for added strength.

+ INF Eric Williams (Fort Zumwalt East, 2024) has done nothing but hit all spring and summer, helping propel his high school squad to the 5A state playoffs in the process. Williams’ offensive prowess was on display yesterday, as the muscled-up 5-foot-9, 187-pound right-handed hitter barreled balls with authority throughout BP. His loudest ball jumped off his barrel at 95.5 mph, averaging 87.1 mph, and peaking at 353 feet, per TrackMan. His athleticism should also be highlighted, as Williams jumped 33.7 inches on the vertical test yesterday - one of the day’s top marks.
+ MIF Lukas Wilson (Staley, 2024) impressed in multiple facets of yesterday’s workout. A switch-hitter, Wilson repeated his swing from both sides of the plate and produced steady line drive contact throughout, working the whole field. His clean actions on the infield have him pegged to stay there in the long run, covering ground with confidence with soft hands to pair.

+ 1B Jackson Glueck (Staley, 2024) owns advanced feel to hit from the left side and noteworthy bat strength, showcasing that on Wednesday in BP. At 6-foot, 212-pounds, Glueck ripped off a few swings that turned heads, maxing at 95 mph on his hardest batted ball with a 353 foot max. A top performer at Creekside at the Kansas City Program Invitational, Glueck’s one of Missouri’s top offensive threats.
LHH 1B Jackson Glueck (@StaleyBaseball, 2024) has regularly performed in-game to our scouts and took a loud round of BP today.

On the barrel with plate coverage & authority; 95 mph peak, 353 ft. max. #PBRFG22 pic.twitter.com/LPFJMPjVbC
+ INF/RHP Mason Beno (Parkway West, 2024) continues to show a projectable profile on the diamond. A left-handed hitter, Beno repeats line drive contact from a short, simple stroke that should grow into more power as he fills out his 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame. Beno took a clean round of infield defense, playing through the baseball with confidence and firing an 87 mph bullet across the diamond. Also a follow on the mound, Beno is slated to toe the rubber for Team Missouri later this afternoon.
+ C Chase Lasater (Holt, 2024) took one of Missouri’s cleanest BP rounds, repeating line drive contact throughout and covering the plate. Lasaster’s knack for the barrel is extremely advanced, as the 5-foot-11, 190-pound backstop found the sweet-spot at an 88% mark, per TrackMan. Lasater looked improved behind the plate, showing on-the-bag accuracy from a short, quick slot.
C Chase Lasater (@HoltADOffice, 2024) will definitely be a LHH to follow for Team MO throughout the #PBRFG22.

Repeats at the plate with thump off the barrel; 86.7 mph average, 351 ft. peak.

+ A winner from this year’s summer circuit, C/INF Brodie Short (Lutheran St. Charles, 2024) impressed again at yesterday’s workout. A strong, sturdy 6-foot-1, 202-pound left-handed bat, Short’s knack for elevating the baseball deep into the gaps is noteworthy. He showed arm strength behind the plate yesterday as well, topping at 77 mph from the crouch.
LHH C/INF Brodie Short (Lutheran St. Charles, 2024) continues to elevate the baseball to the deepest part of the parks; 270 ft average, 330 ft peak.

Showed arm strength behind the plate, topping at 77 mph. #PBRFG22 pic.twitter.com/FiXApfg3pc
+ At 6-foot-1, 205-pounds, OF Ashton Williams (Kennett, 2024) certainly doesn’t lack physicality in stature or at the plate, either. Williams produced the hardest batted ball of any Team Missouri prospect, squaring one up at 100.9 mph, per TrackMan, with a peak distance of 357 feet. Williams’ ability to produce hard contact (88.1 mph average) is obviously noteworthy and his right-handed power should be on display throughout the weekend. He finished one tick short of the team high in outfield velocity, peaking at 87 mph.
OF Ashton Williams (Kennett, 2024) wields some of the loudest bat strength on Team MO; 100.9 mph max EV, 357 ft. peak distance.

+ Few in Missouri’s 2025 class have the ceiling that RHP/INF Jordan Martin (Jefferson City) does and it’s evident each time we see him on the field. A highly projectable 6-foot-4, 185-pound athlete, Martin’s arguably the top two-way follow in the state’s incoming sophomore group and he’s set to prove that throughout the week. He ran a 7.03 60-yard dash at his stature during yesterday’s workout and repeated a right-handed stroke that oozes upside in BP. On the infield, Martin’s clean sure-handed actions were on display and he easily covered ground with his long strides, topping at 84 mph across the diamond. Martin’s highest ceiling may ultimately be as an arm, where we’ve seen him up to an easy 88 mph multiple times this summer.
+ OF Jackson Carter (Fort Zumwalt East, 2024) continues to show out as one of the top pure athletes in the Midwest. Carter started his day off by jumping 34.4 inches in the vertical test, an incredibly impressive mark, and he proceeded to run a 6.51 in the 60-yard dash afterwards. He showcased a short, quick right-handed stroke at the plate, averaging 24.6 mph of hand speed and 73.6 mph of bat speed - both of which are advanced Blast Motion metrics.
