With the 2018 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2018 Spring Team Preview: Strongsville Mustangs
Team Name: Strongsville Mustangs
Head Coach: Doug Cicerchi
Division: I
2017 Record: 25-9
Conference Record: Greater Cleveland Conference, 10-3, 2nd
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4.5/6

Coach Outlook: “We're looking to build on last season's successes by taking the lessons taught by a loose, fun-loving group of competitive seniors and apply them to this year's competitive bunch. I think if we can relax and just go play, our talent will shine through but I worry some of our new guys can be wound a little too tight. I love their competitiveness -- we need it -- but we need to enjoy the game as well. We'll get better and grow together if we have fun playing while we work towards our goals. What I have seen in the weight room is a hard-working group of kids that want to be one game better than last year while understanding how difficult it was to get to the State Final. Leadership is emerging. We trust each other. Now we need to just go play, enjoy the process one day at a time, and see how far we can go.”
PBR Outlook: A year after a long run to the state final, coach Cicerchi and the Mustangs look to reload and make another run in 2018. The Mustangs have all the makings to do so, and will be a team to watch all year.
