REDWOOD CITY, CALIF. - As an open event, this was conducted as a straight traditional showcase, 60 yard run, BP round (with Blast Motion sensors and TrackMan utilized for gathering of various data and metrics), defensive workouts, and pitchers ending the day on the mound throwing 15-20 pitch sessions.

Drew Lavrack, Dublin (CA), 2023
Positional Profile: C
Physical: 6-2, 195-pounds; Long, sturdy build. 8.31 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet wide spread; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Loads straight back with a gliding stride for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with two handed finish. More fly balls than line drives and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 85 MPH via Trackman. Aggressive attack angle resulting in 28.55 launch angle avg, creates bat speed by throwing the barrel through contact.
Defensively: Starts with a compact setup; utilizing both traditional and one-knee set-up while staying low during receiving. Hands soft and strong while staying down to receive prior to transfer. Short take back from a high-3/4 arm slot. 2.11-2.23 pop times. C - 71 MPH. Able to get into multiple receiving positions while showing agility, hands work cleanly under the pitch, throws were around the bag and easy for MIF to handle.
Jordan Maske, Mills (CA), 2023
Positional Profile: C
Physical: 5-9, 150-pounds; Lean, athletic build. 7.69 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with two handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 83 MPH via Trackman. Equal line drive and fly ball % (37.5), swing stays on-plane well with ability to create some backspin, contact oriented approach.
Defensively: Starts with a compact setup; utilizing a one knee approach while staying a bit elevated in receiving position. Hands work under the ball while staying down to receive prior to transfer. Short take back from a high-3/4 arm slot. 2.26-2.33 pop times. C - 71 MPH. Throws generally around the bag utilizing more one hops than carry to bag, light feet, displayed athleticism behind plate.
Anthony Rael, Sacred Heart Cathedral (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: C/3B
Physical: 5-10, 150-pounds; Lean, proportional build. 8.11 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet narrow; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Loads straight back with a slight leg-kick for timing. Drifts into contact while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with two handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 86 MPH via Trackman. Clean stroke, hips create good finish to location of pitch, keeps top hand above ball, fluid and smooth hitting mechanics.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; utilizing both traditional and one-knee set-up while staying low during receiving. Hands are soft while standing up slightly early during transfer. Short take back from a high-3/4 arm slot. 2.14-2.19 pop times. C - 69 MPH. Athletic receiver, knows when to stick/frame and when to just catch a ball out of the zone, throws around the bag with some short hops mixed in.
Fernando Oseguera, Los Altos (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: C
Physical: 5-8, 170-pounds; Sturdy, athletic build. 7.79 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; flat bat moving to upright position. Short take back with the hands with a slight leg-kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with two handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 89 MPH via Trackman. Equal line drive and fly ball % (37.5), found sweet spot 50% of time, has body control throughout the stroke, strong hands, has some hitterish presence.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; utilizing a one knee approach while staying low during receiving. Hands soft and strong while staying down to receive prior to transfer. Short take back from a high/over the top arm slot. 2.29-2.39 pop times. C - 68 MPH. Can get low in the receiving position, throws around the bag if also occasionally short hops, leg strength is an asset.
Dylan Shu, Mills (CA), 2023
Positional Profile: C
Physical: 5-6, 170-pounds; Full, sturdy build. 7.92 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Short take back with the hands with a heel lift for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with two handed finish. More ground balls than line drives and fly balls with a peak exit velocity of 87 MPH via Trackman. Kept ball out of the air, 44.4% LDs, 55.6% GBs, stayed on-plane at a high rate, compact contact oriented swing.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; utilizing a traditional primary position while staying a bit elevated in receiving position. Hands soft and strong while staying down to receive prior to transfer. Moderate arm circle from a high/over the top arm slot. 2.28-2.29 pop times. C - 68 MPH. Throws generally around bag, gets throw underway with some air under it, MIFs had opportunity to make easy effort plays.
Tyler Lahl, Serra (San Mateo, CA), 2024
Positional Profile: C
Physical: 5-11, 131-pounds; Average, lanky build. 8.14 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet narrow; upright bat position. Extended take back of the hands with a gliding stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with two handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 81 MPH via Trackman. Fairly consistent with staying on-line, found sweet spot at 66.7% clip, sprays line drives around field, approach fits present strength and power capabilities.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; utilizing both traditional and one-knee set-up while staying low during receiving. Hands are soft while standing up slightly early during transfer. Short take back from a standard 3/4 arm slot. 2.44-2.49 pop times. C - 62 MPH. Loose arm with snap throw mechanic, receiving mechanic/set-up were different for FB and breaking ball (more elevated hips and wider knees for breaking ball).
