A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Event: NorCal Uncommitted Games Positional Profile: C Physical: 6-0, 170-pounds; Lean body, average athletic build, wiry strength; 7.56 60-yard, 21.6” max jump height. Offensively: RHH. EV max – 88.1 mph, hand speed max – 19.5 mph, bat speed max – 62.5 mph; Feet set outside shoulders and slightly closed, barrel relaxed over shoulder near parallel to ground, slight crouch, small up down front foot into essentially no stride, maintains balance, works direct to the ball, able to keep barrel above the ball, gap to gap contact approach with consistent stroke, quiet head, all field hit ability. Defensively: C mph – 70, pops 2.14 – 2.19; Transfer has some length as glove moves back to throwing hand, throws around the back with one hop more often than not, sets up in multiple receiving positions with agile hips, quiet block technique, quality receiver, actions are efficient, there are plays who post lower pop times due to a cheating set-up that Rael does not use.
1/30/22
Positional Profile: C/3B Physical: 5-10, 150-pounds; Lean, proportional build. 8.11 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet narrow; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Loads straight back with a slight leg-kick for timing. Drifts into contact while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with two handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 86 MPH via Trackman. Clean stroke, hips create good finish to location of pitch, keeps top hand above ball, fluid and smooth hitting mechanics. Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; utilizing both traditional and one-knee set-up while staying low during receiving. Hands are soft while standing up slightly early during transfer. Short take back from a high-3/4 arm slot. 2.14-2.19 pop times. C - 69 MPH. Athletic receiver, knows when to stick/frame and when to just catch a ball out of the zone, throws around the bag with some short hops mixed in.
