Florida Class of 2021: Top Uncommitted Corner Infielders
October 1, 2018
Last week the Overall Class of 2021 Rankings were updated and expanded. Shortly following, our own Florida Class of 2021 Rankings were updated and expanded to 100 prospects. Being in such a baseball rich state means many of the prospects here are receving offers and committing earlier than other parts.
Taking a glimpse at the Top 100 shows that 39 of the 100 have already delcared a commitment. This leaves 61 prospects who are still searching for a home. Athlough there is no reason to panic for these guys, as there is plenty of time left in the recruiting process.
On Thursday, we presented the Top Uncommitted Pitchers remaining in the Top 100. Friday, followed the Top Uncommitted Middle Infiedlers remaining.
Today, we continue our presentation with the top uncomitted corner infielders in Florida's class of 2021.
Top Uncommitted Corners
Bryce Braxton 3B / RHP / Pasco, FL / 202108/15/18- Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds with strength throughout, especially in the lower half. The PBR Future Games participant continued to stand out offensively, where he took a couple of strong rounds of BP, barreling the ball all over the field. Utilizes his lower half and uses his strong hands to drive the ball with authority into the gaps. He shows some pull side power, but as he continues to strengthen his frame, expect the power to see a jump. Tied for the highest exit velocity in his class at 90 mph off a tee. Defensively, he shows confidence and fields the ball out in front with accurate and online throws to the bag. The bat will continue to be a strong follow for his class. |
Brett Blair 3B / SS / Buchholz, FL / 202108/22/18- One of the biggest winners of the day the physical 6-foot-2, 195 pound third baseman has present athleticism and multiple above average tools. Defensively, he moves well, under control but above average range with above average defensive potential for third base. Offensively, there is present whippiness in the swing, with above average bat speed. He has a strong lower half and stays compact while generating bat speed and power. An exit velocity of 90 mph, he also had a single in the game. The bat works and has hit/power potential. High follow. |
Juhlien Gonzalez Jr 3B / SS / West Broward, FL / 2021Rankings StateRank: 45 / POS: 3
|
Jac Caglianone Jr. 1B / LHP / Plant, FL / 2021Rankings StateRank: 57 / POS: 2
08/25/18- Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot-5, 168 pounds with a long, loose, projectable frame. Plenty of room to fill out. Stood out offensively throughout the weekend where he showed an advanced approach from the left side with quick hands, and above average bat speed through the zone. Gap-to-gap power potential. At times can get a little long with his swing, but when he stays direct to the ball, he barrels it up. During gameplay he showed patience and the ability to sit back on the breaking ball which is shown in the video below, driving the ball over the centerfielder’s head for a double. With the frame and the approach he shows at the plate, expect to see several jumps in gap-to-gap power from Caglianone Jr. |
