Fall Prospect Showcase: Statistical Analysis

The Fall Prospect Showcase took place on Sunday August 29th at the Kansas City Royals Complex in Surprise. Our inaugural event in the state featured over 50 prospects from the classes of 2018-2021. Yesterday, we kicked off the event coverage with our Quick Hits and today we look at the top statistical performers. TOP 60 YARD DASH TIMES
Noah Nithman (O’Connor, 2020) burst on to the scene as a quick twitch athlete with a strong round of BP and posted the day’s top 60 time with a 6.97. Following closely behind were Nick Barendrick (Saguaro, 2018) and Thome Nickelson (Mountain View, 2019) with 7.0 and 7.08 respectively.

TOP FASTBALL VELOCITY
Tyler Magin (Desert Vista, 2019) and Daniele Di Monte (Italy, 2019) lead a group of impressive arms in attendance, both topping out at 89 with Magin consistently sitting in the upper 80’s and Di Monte reaching back for a little extra at the end of his bullpen.

TOP EXIT VELOCITY
Tanner Keeley (Casteel, 2019), Seth Funderburk (Casteel, 2019) and Nick Modcrin (St. James Academy (KS), 2019) were three of the most physical prospects in attendance and tied for the highest exit velo at 91 mph. Jack Silverman (Desert Mountain, 2019) and David Utagawa (Corona del Sol, 2020) also posted 88 mph exit velos.

TOP INFIELD VELOCITY
Bryce Ulm (Gilbert, 2018) showed off surprising feet and hands on the infield along with the strongest infield arm on the day, just ahead of Nickelson, whose intriguing tool set also includes a solid arm.
