Scouting Report
10/11/18 - Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds with a strong, athletic frame. Has gotten noticeably more physical over the fall which has translated to an improvement in his overall game. During batting practice, he showed a feel for the barrel and squared up the ball for multiple hard hit line drives into the gaps. Shows a lot of confidence at the plate and trusts his hands to drive the ball. Registered a 92 mph exit velocity in the cage. Defensively, he shows athletic actions up the middle while ranging backhand and forehand, fielding the ball under control and with accurate throws to the bag that have carry, topping out at 89 mph. On the mound, he shows a quick arm and featured a fastball that sat 85-87 mph with life, touching 88 mph while mixing in a 79-80 mph changeup and a slider at 74-75 mph with depth, throwing it for strikes. With the added strength and athleticism Jackson possesses, he will one of the top uncommitted two-way follows for his class in the state.
10/05/18 - Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 180-pound athletically-built right-handed infielder. Offensively, line drive approach with pull-side power. Hands work athletically through the zone. Defensively, smooth actions, fields deep at-times, arm action is clean, enough strength to remain at shortstop.
03/03/18- Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds with a loose, projectable frame. The athleticism and versatility on the field are present, while showing quick hands through the zone and some gap-to-gap power at the plate. During the game Jackson drove a ball over the left-center field wall for a two-run home run. Jackson has also been interesting on the mound and will be a strong follow for this spring an as uncommitted two-way 2020.
02/17/18- Uncommitted. While he did not have the velocity we saw earlier in the month, you can see the potential. He is extremely athletic and the arm works. He will be a two-way player to follow and schools will surely do so as well.
01/27/18- Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds with an athletic, projectable build. Shows present strength. Stood out all over the field throughout the event. Offensively, he starts from an open stance with quick hands through the zone and strength in his swing, looking to drive the ball into the gaps with intent. Shows a feel for the barrel and the ball jumps off the bat. As he continues to become stronger, look for a jump in gap-to-gap power. Registered an exit velocity of 91 mph in the cage. In the field he displayed actions, ranged freely to his right and left, and showed an above average arm from short with his throws topping out at 87 mph. Makes the off-balance throws. Clocked in at 7.47 seconds for his 60 yard dash time. On the mound he he has a simple, repeatable windup with a quick arm throwing out of the high ¾ slot. Fastball mostly sat in the 81-85 mph range with life along with a 70-71 mph slider that showed depth while also mixing in a 78-79 mph change up. At times he can fall off to the first base side on his landing, but the athleticism and arm strength are apparent on the mound. More velocity to come as he adds to his frame. Very athletic two-way player who will be a strong follow throughout the spring.
12/16/17- A physical infielder, he really stood out with the bat. Defensively, he is solid, but may end up sliding over to third with the chance to be much bigger and stronger. He has a broad shoulder, physical frame and present strength. Offensively, he showed present gap-to-gap power with above average power potential. He uses his strong lower half well and the ball came off of the bat well. A bat to follow.
