HAYWARD, CALIF. - Our Preseason ID series concluded on Sunday 2/5/23, at Chabot College in the East Bay city of Hayward. Over the winter we made stops all over Northern California (Fresno, Chico, Peninsula, South Bay, & East Bay), bringing PBR to the players in their home regions.
In seeing nearly 150 players at the preseason events, we've seen players who will be receiving invitations to exclusive PBR events such as Future Games, West Coast Games, and California State Games. We've seen players who came out to get their numbers/stats updated, reflecting their growth, development, and hard work. Some of those players will rise in their class ranking. We've also come across players we've not previously seen before. It's been a very productive preseason schedule.
At the ID events and open events the players compete in a traditional showcase workout, including the 60-yard dash (w/10 & 30-yard splits), hitting session, and a defensive session. We have also added an athletic testing station, utilizing Swift Performance EzeJump. The pitchers throw a pen session, ranging from 15-20 pitches.
As February rolls along we he will have posts reflecting leaders via technology from out tech partners TrackMan, Blast, and Swift Performance. This is the final post of metrics/data/stats, reflecting the speed and agility numbers gathered with Swift Performance & EzeJump technology.
(Note: All showcase videos will be added to profiles in the coming days)
SORTABLE PLAYER STATISTICS INCLUDING TRACKMAN, SWIFT, AND BLAST MOTION DATA
Prep Baseball Report events across the country have been powered by Swift Performance industry-leading portable system to capture pinpoint accurate, actionable data from player performances as it pertains to speed and athletic testing. Prep Baseball Report and Swift Labs are dedicated to recognizing talent and unleashing their potential.
At the event all participants are tested on the Swift Performance EZE JUMP to measure RSI and vertical jump allowing glimpses into the players current athleticism. The sequencing of the test varies based on what is being administered. In addition to the jumpmat, position players were put through a laser timed 60 yard dash. Also measured using Swift Labs state of the art laser system were 10 and 30 yard splits providing further insight into current athleticism and potential.
This data goes directly into the player profiles allowing the PBR Staff, college coaches, and professional scouts alike to evaluate and compare prospects on a national scale.

PEAK RSI
Reactive strength index (RSI) is the ratio between the height jumped and the ground contact time, calculated by dividing the jump height by the ground contact time. RSI is used as a measure of reactive jump capacity and displays how an athlete copes with and performs plyometric activities.
