Doh's 2022 California Dream Team

LOS ANGELES, CA - As we recently released our Updated class of 2022 state rankings I thought I would offer an entertaining look at my hand picked, and completely subjective 2022 California Dream Team. Whether you're a general baseball fan, a coach or a scout, I’m sure you have toiled with the idea of being armchair All-Star Manager for a day and attempted to fill out your own personal All-Time lineup. Well I have, and this is it. The notion of doing this drill is not a new idea, but it's always fun to pick your starters in a made-up scenario.

When I constructed my "Dream Team" lineup and Reserve players, I decided that each player had to exhibit a degree of excellence over their somewhat brief high school careers. There is much debate as to who is the cream of the crop in the State of California for the 2022 class because after all, these players have only played one year of high school baseball. However, given the amount of games I have seen in the last two-to-three years, and watching all of these players, in some cases multiple times, I feel confident in fielding this team, hypothetically speaking, and putting it up against any manufactured State Team in the country.

For some of my choices, the majority would consider to be no-brainers. It's perfectly acceptable to disagree with any of my picks or the entire team for that matter. In fact, you should, it's part of the fun. It's not just about names and faces, it's about constructing a lineup of athletes that you think not only best complement each other, but also gives you the best chance to win.

In addition, the lineup being presented is for a one game, winner take all….Any takers?
