Body: 6-foot, 165-pounds. Athletic catchers build with proportional strength throughout. Looks the part with a projectable pro catchers build. Will benefit from maturity and strength training.
Hit: Switch-hitter showing similar set-up and approach from both sides of the plate. Stands shoulder width apart before striding into his load. Hands are low and quick to the ball. Batting practice showed middle to the field/opposite-field approach from both sides of the plate. Line drive intent with a mixed bag of results. Ability to pull is greater from the left side along with his power. From the right side showed good contact but less hip mobility.
Power: Averaged 27.27° launch angle and 80.18 mph exit speed. Hardest hit balls were ones with less launch angle, with his personal best at 95.17 mph exit speed with 13.66° launch angle. Power potential down the line and could gain in the intern with more lower half engagement.
Field: Natural ability behind the plate. Consistent skills and feel that profile well. Received well and garnered high praise from the pitchers that he caught. Moved well laterally in the blocking portion, staying low and keeping his head down. Lots of defensive potential. Pop time range of 2.00-2.08, good for 4th overall.
Arm: Noticeable above-average arm strength from the catching position. Posted the 2nd fastest catcher velocity at 81 mph. Short arm swing that he keeps close to his body and ear creating consistent quick release throws.
Run: Did not run.

The switch-hitting Davis scuffled a tick from the right side during BP, but when he switched sides it was game on as he hammered balls off the fence and into the gaps that just sounded different off the bat. There’s some controlled aggression in the swing that produces loud contact. Defensively Davis showed arguably the best arm of any catcher in attendance. It’s big and accurate. Caught a would-be base stealer in-game with a 2.01 pop time. While working in the 1.94-1.97 range and registering an 81 mph throw during the workout portion.

USC commit. Davis is a switch hitter with a nice line drive approach, he’s got great leverage in his swing creating the expectation that his power will increase as he gets older. He’s got quick hands and has the ability to turn on pitches which is shown in the video below. Davis has a good approach to the plate where he shows great discipline. Behind the plate, Davis is very athletic and he receives balls with quiet soft hands. His best defensive attribute is his arm which well above average.

USC commit. Davis shows athleticism in his overall game. He switch hits with natural ability - smoked a stand up double to left field from the left side on an 86 mph fastball. He pitches - he was 86-87 with a fast, loose, easy arm that really, really works.

Davis is going to be a highly talked about prospect over the next four years. Already a USC commit, Davis shows big potential overall, but particularly at third base where his instincts, range, and arm strength are already average or better. Davis is a primary catcher who didn’t catch in the first game. He also pitches into the mid-80's. He made a play diving to his right where he not only caught the ball but popped to his feet quickly ready to throw. The ball was called foul making the play by Davis all the more impressive as he caught it well beyond the line.
