Commitment Tracker
With a surplus of commitments from the 2019 and 2020 group here in Ontario, we get back on track and highlight some of the more recent commitments from players over the last couple months.
We will continue to update in article style when we get word of players committing to post-secondary schools and bolstering our already impressive commitment list from the 2019 class.
With that being said, there is still impact players on the board and college coaches need to be on Canadian players as there were big strides taken by emerging prospects this summer, and we are sure to see the talent level increase as we head into our off-season and players begin their indoor training.

Zachary Cameron RHP / 3B / Bishop Ryan, ON / 2019
Committed: Niagara
Report: Cameron has been reliable all summer for his Fieldhouse team and was more of the same at our TPG’s at Niagara university in August as Cameron made quick work of hitters as he ran his fastball up to 88 mph and worked at 86-87 while showing one of the better changeups in the province and spinning a breaking ball over for strikes. The body is compact and strong, the arm is clean with whip and it’s a bulldog demeanour on the mound. Can play third-base as well with some pop in the bat but for us the mound is where Cameron stays and succeeds with the Purple Eagles.

Committed: Central Florida
Report: Thorpe has had an up and down summer with a strong fall to finish off his 2018 year of National coverage and attention as one of the high profiled arms in the country. Thorpe did struggle with his fastball command but did always seem to be able to get his curveball over and keep it tight with good bite and feel for the pitch. He was solid at T12 in September, while the velocity was down a little in 84-87 range, he pitched and showed confidence and poise on the mound. Thorpe is our top ranked pitcher in the class, and when it’s all synced up and his off-speed in getting over, it’s dominant stuff and can be lights out against the toughest competition.

Zach Laurie OF / RHP / Crestwood , ON / 2020
Committed: St. John’s
Report: Laurie made his presence felt at the PBR Future Games this year in Indianapolis as his loose swing that generates whip and bat speed caught the attention of the Red Storm coaching staff (among others). The bat speed grabs your attention right away, he feel to hit, use the whole field and hit for power, but after watching him over a course of 4 days, the compete, grit, will to win start to take over and it’s real. Will need to get more reps in the outfield and feel more comfortable, but the athleticism and overall ball player make Laurie someone who after 3 years at St. Johns could make some noise in June with the way the ball jumps off his bat presently.

Hayden Pilmer RHP / Leamington District , ON / 2019
Committed: Wabash Valley
Report: Pilmer, the big 6-foot-5, 235-pound right-hander committed to Wabash Valley at the end of his fall, with a chance to gain on the past summer and don’t be surprised to see Pilmer ready to rock early out the gates in 2019. He overcame what could of been a tough foot injury, and kept his body together while being a member of the Canada Cup Gold Medal Team. The arm is clean in the back, simple action and at times loses his direction, but Pilmer will run his heater into the upper 80’s and can flash sliders that will get swings and misses in the 76-79 range.
