With the 2019 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2019 SPRING TEAM PREVIEW: Bryan Golden Bears

Team Name: Bryan Golden Bears

Division: II
2018 Record: 19-5
Conference Record: NWOAL 7-0
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 9-5

2019 Team Strengths:

Coach Outlook: “The 2019 Bryan Golden Bears will look to replace 8 seniors who graduated from a team last year that finished 19-5 and finished 7-0 in the NWOAL (1st place). This year’s team features 8 returning letterman from a year ago. Overall, 4 seniors and several juniors are competing to crack the starting lineup. Coming off a summer State Acme Baseball Title (first since 1996), the expectations are very high to contend for the NWOAL title and get back to Districts and hopefully beyond in the State Tournament. Our non-conference schedule is extremely difficult and this team will be battle-tested by the time the sectional tournament is here. Our season will depend on our ability to stay healthy as a team and for our players to execute in the clutch.”

PBR Outlook: 2019 has a chance to be a special year for the Golden Bears and coach Jeff Inselmann. With the talent from top to bottom on the roster, Bryan will be one of the more entertaining teams to watch in 2019 and look to make a run in the always difficult NW region in Division II come tournament time.
