2018 Player Spotlight: RHP Zach Messinger

With the 2018-2019 Prospect Showcase coming up on September 20th at Grand Park in Westfield, IN, throughout the next several weeks we are going to highlight some of the top 2018-2019 prospects we have seen thus far.  

Player Name: Zach MessingerZach Messinger
Primary Position: RHP
High School: Castle
Grad Year: 2018

Notes: Messinger is a 6-foot-4, 170 pound right-hander that pitches from a high ¾ to over the top slot with quick arm speed.  His arm action is long and loose. He shows an over the head pump in his drop and drive delivery with good balance. He displays smooth rhythm with some effort and a good line to the plate, finishing athletic.  At the Underclass Games in June his fastball had good movement at 80-82 and thrown for a strike; cut action.  The breaking ball shows an 11/5 shape at 66-69 with gradual break.
