With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Greenville Green Wave

Team Name: Greenville Green Wave
Head Coach: Eric Blumenstock
Division: I
2015 Record: 7-20
Conference Record: GWOC North, 3-7
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/5

2016 Team Strengths:

• Starting Pitching
• Speed
• Depth

2016 Team Weaknesses:

• Power
• Vocal Leadership

Coach Outlook: "I look for us to be much improved this season. We return all but two full time starters from last years team, and a very deep pitching staff. The kids took their lumps last year with 5 Sophomores and a Freshman seeing regular playing time, but I think the experience will help us this season."

PBR Outlook: Greenville and coach Blumenstock return a lot of experience for the 2016 campaign. Kyle Mills started all 28 games as a freshman and we should see some nice progression from the young two-way prospect. Tyler Netzley will anchor the pitching staff on the mound.

• AJ Bowers, RHP, 6-0, 180 S/R. 2 year starter 3.80 ERA in 31 innings
• Jacob Hounshell, INF, 6-0, 170 S/R, 2 year starter- 19 hits, .271 AVG

Top Underclassmen:

• Kyle Mills, SS/RHP, 5-11/175, Soph. 1 year starter, .274 AVG, 0-2 2.44 ERA. Started all 28 games as a Freshman 
• Logan Eldridge, OF, 5-11, 200 J/R. 1 year starter- out with injury last season, hit .280 as a freshman
• Brandon Beyke, LHP/OF, 5-11, 170 J/R, 1 year starter, .408 OBP, Great speed- 0-1, 2.74 ERA
• Grant Minnich, C, 5-10, 165 Fresh.
• Owen Paulus, 6-2, 180, Soph. 1 year starter
• Karsyn Fender, 5-9, 225, Soph.
