The 2015 season was my fourth season with PBR Ohio and as with each of the previous three years, I couldn't ask for a better job. Yeah the weather could be better in March and April, but seeing these kids battle through the conditions that Ohio brings is great.

Being able to finish the season at the home of the Cleveland Indians AAA affiliate, the Columbus Clippers is a dream that all high school baseball players hope to be able to accomplish. Huntington Park is one of the finest minor league venues in all of baseball and the OHSAA and Clippers organization have done a great job of running the state final four.

Personally I want to thank all of the players, coaches, parents, media members and fans who have helped PBR Ohio and myself with coverage across the great state of Ohio.

In 2016, PBR Ohio will continue to be your one-stop spot for high school baseball news in Ohio and will look to bring you even more. Thanks again! Can't wait for the 2016 season to begin!

For all of you that are playing this summer, have a blast, work hard and use this time to make yourself better. For everyone going to play at the collegiate level, good luck! Represent your family, school and yourself as the best student-athlete you can be. For all that are just going to college or going straight to a job after high school, I wish you luck in all your future endeavors.

Division III Player of the Year:

Xavier Harris, Mount. Gilead, 2015

Division III Position Player of the Year:

Ross Adolph, Van Buren, 2015
2015 Season: The University of Toledo commit paced the Van Buren offense all season and will look to do the same for the Rockets in 2016. Statistically the left-handed hitting outfielder did it all as you can see...
2015 Statistics: 50-84, .595 Avg, 6 2B, 5 3B, 3 HR, 58 R, 25 RBIs, 26 SB

 

Division III Pitcher of the Year:

Patrick Murphy, Canton Central Catholic, 2015
2015 Season: The Marshall commit was the ace of the Division III state champion's, Canton Central Catholic. The southpaw was dominant during the tournament and showed that on the biggest state in Columbus. In the state semifinal, Murphy flat-out dominant in the semis, throwing a one-hitter while walking three. The southpaw also struck out nine while sitting in the mid-to-upper 80s with the fastball for the Crusaders. Statistics wise in 2015 this lefty excelled as you can see...
2015 Statistics: 62 IP, 9-1, 0.90 ERA, 90 Ks, 18 BB

Division III Co-Coach of the Year:

Ron Rightnowar, Genoa Area
2015 Season: Ron Rightnowar was able to guide the Comets to the final four for just the third time in school history. Despite falling in the state semifinal, the Comets finished with an outstanding 25-4 record.

Division III Co-Coach of the Year:

Michael Estep, Wheelersburg
2015 Season: Coach Estep has helped make the Wheelersburg a perennial power in whichever division they are in that season. The Pirates have reached Columbus seven times in the past eight seasons, and with that type a pressure comes great coaching. Michael Estep had the Pirated ranked #1 this season while finishing with a 26-2 record.
