The 2015 Eastern PA College Prospect Showcase took place on July 1 at War Memorial Field on the campus of Ephrata High School. Our rundown of the participants continues today with the two left-handed pitchers in attendance.
left-handed pitchers
Hunter Rang, LHP/OF, Bermudian Springs, Class of 2017
6-foot, 185-pound primary pitcher. Lefty sat 68-70 from a high 3/4 arm slot with a significant side rocker delivery. Additional work to stay over his front leg and directional to the plate would lead to velocity gains. Rang also displayed a curveball with 1/7 rotation that sat 60-61 and a 67 mph changeup thrown with similar arm speed.
George Stewart, LHP/1B, St. Joseph's Prep, Class of 2017
5-foot-11, 175-pound primary pitcher. Lefty sat 75-77 from a high 3/4 arm slot with command of his fastball. Showed balance throughout simple delivery with frame that should lead to additional velocity gains. Also displayed a 64 mph curveball with 1/7 rotation and a 69 mph changeup thrown at near fastball arm speed.
