Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma hosted the second annual Top Unsigned Senior Games on Wednesday, June 6th, at the newly turfed Wendell Simmons Field. The event showcased a sold out 60 player roster from the 2019 grad class. Each position player went through a pro-style workout and played in a game.
Though a few of the players covered here are talented two-way players, today we will cover them as catcher, with pitching analysis analysis already completed.

Shon-Claude Boothe C / OF / Mangum, OK / 2019A 6-foot-1, 221-pound durable frame with some strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open and slightly knock-kneed set-up with rhythm in his hands. Uses a moderate stride and a hand load before launching his hands on a flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a middle to pull approach with lift flashing some pop, some barrels, 86 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.33 second 60. Defensively, from behind the dish, shows above average hands receiving from a sturdy base with flexibility. Throws with a short arm stroke coming through an over the top slot with accuracy at 65 mph to second base with showcase pop times of 2.21-2.37. In the game, was 0-for-4, but put a few good swings on balls. |
Dayne Bowerman C / Roff , OK / 2019A 5-foot-8, 160-pound durable frame with some strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a balanced, even, and athletic set-up with his barrel tipped towards the pitcher and rhythm throughout. Uses a slight hand pump load with a short reverse toe-tap stride before launching his hands on a flat path to contact with a high finish and big extension. In BP, shows a flat and pull approach with occasional lift, almost all barrels, and more pop than his 83 mph exit velo would suggest. Runs a 7.53 second 60. Defensively, is a well above average receiver, catching from a narrow base with a lot of hip sway and strong hands. Jordan Coffey C / 1B / Deer Creek, OK / 2019A 6-foot, 220-pound durable frame with strength throughout. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a wide open, slightly front foot heavy and athletic set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a quiet and slightly open and knee-knocked set-up. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open, balanced, and athletic stance with rhythm throughout. Uses a small leg lift before launching his hands on a slightly uphill path with bat speed and hand strength. In BP, shows an all fields approach with occasional lift and shows consistent pop, almost all barrels, 96 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.03 second 60. Defensively, receives from a narrow and flexible base with strong hands.
