Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma teamed up with Sandlot All-American baseball for the second annual Scout Day Upgrade on May 19th-20th at Broken Arrow HS in Tulsa and Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond. Nearly 60 players from 2021-2018 class participated in the PBR upgrade. Each player participated in a pro style showcase to show their skills and record measurables in front the PBR staff.
Though many of the players covered below are talented two way players, they will be covered as RHPs today with positional analysis to come later.

Garret Baker 1B / RHP / Mustang, OK / 2021A physically impressive 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame with some strength. On the mound, the right-hander works only from a closed off stretch set-up with average tempo and moderate leg kick before gliding down the mound. Arm action has moderate length in the back with a slight wrist hook and a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke before coming through a ¾ slot. Fastball shows consistent arm-side run at 77-78 mph. Splitter has tumbling action with consistent late depth, has a chance to be a plus pitch in the future, 68-72 mph. Slider has 10/4 shape with gradual break and some depth, 69-71 mph. Changeup keeps its plane and is thrown with near fastball arm speed, 68-70 mph. |
Austin Berg 3B / RHP / Broken Arrow , OK / 2020A lean 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame with long legs and room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works only from the stretch with a slight crouch using a moderate leg lift before gliding to the dish. Arm action has moderate length in the back with a clean circle before coming through a ¾ slot. Fastball shows some life at 71-73 mph, almost all strikes. Slider has short east-west shape, spinning out at times, 61-63 mph. Changeup has some fade at 63-64 mph. |
Luke Chabino RHP / 3B / Metro Christian Academy, OK / 2021A slender 5-10, 135-pound frame with lots of room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from a smooth and average tempo delivery with a moderate leg kick before striding to the plate. Arm action has moderate length in the back with a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke before coming through an over the top slot. Fastball keeps its plane, 69-72 mph. Curveball has some 11/5 shape, 62-63 mph. Changeup has fade, 62-63 mph. |
Chance Condit C / RHP / Salina, OK / 2021A physically advanced 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame with some strength throughout. On the mound, the right-hander works from a smooth and average tempo delivery with a high leg kick before striding to the plate. Arm action is loose and long in the back rising up early behind his head before coming through a ¾ slot. Fastball has slight arm-side run, mostly strikes, 76-78 and touching 80 mph. Splitter has consistent tumbling action with late depth, has a chance to be a plus pitch in the future. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with some depth. Changeup is thrown with below fastball arm speed with some fade, 60-62 mph. |
Reese Donihoo SS / RHP / Mustang, OK / 2021A lean and athletic 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. On the mound, works from an up-tempo delivery with a high and controlled leg kick before using a short stride to get down the mound. Arm action is very short in the back, making a clean circle before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball has some deception coming from behind his head at 80-81 mph, keeps its plane. Changeup is thrown with full arm speed and shows consistent late fade at 75-76 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape with tight spin and late depth, 65-66 mph. |
Doyle Gehring 3B / RHP / Bishop Kelley, OK / 2020A 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame with long legs. On the mound, works from a slightly up-tempo delivery with rhythm that he repeats well. Arm action is short, fluid, and clean before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 84-86 mph and touches 87, mostly strikes. Curveball has consistent 11/5 shape with some late depth, 68-70 mph. Changeup shows sink at 75-76 mph. |
Kenlee Hall RHP / OF / Collinsville , OK / 2019A 6-foot, 200-pound broad shouldered frame with strength throughout. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with rhythm that he repeats well with slight recoil. Arm action has moderate length in the back with a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke before coming through an over the top slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 83-84 mph, mostly strikes. Changeup keeps its plane at 73-74 mph. Curveball is developing, some 12/6 shape, 63-65 mph. |
Jakob Hall SS / RHP / Bartlesville, OK / 2021A 5-foot-11, 140-pound lean frame with lots of room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an up-tempo and athletic delivery. Arm action has length in the back with a quick change of direction before coming through a high-¾ slot with arm speed. Fastball keeps its plane at 78-80 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball shows 11/5 shape with depth, 64-65 mph. Changeup is thrown with full arm speed 68-69 mph with consistent late fade. |

On the mound, the right-hander works from a smooth and slightly up-tempo delivery with rhythm, using a fluid and high leg kick before striding to the dish and finishing to the first base side. Arm action has length in the back with a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke before coming through an over the top slot. Fastball has consistent downhill tilt at 79-82 mph, mostly strikes. Slider has tight spin with 10/4 shape and some late depth, 70-71 mph. Changeup is thrown with fastball arm speed and has consistent fade, 73-74 mph. |
Brylen Janda RHP / OF / Byng, OK / 2021A long and projectable 6-foot-3, 156-pound frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an up-tempo delivery with some rhythm. Arm action is long in the back before coming through an over the top slot. Fastball has some arm-side run with some downhill tilt at 78-80 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape with rolling action, 64-71 mph. Changeup has some fade at 70-71 mph. |

Kurt Kauk RHP / SS / Bartlesville, OK / 2020A 5-foot-9, 155-pound lean frame with room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works only from the stretch with an average tempo delivery and a high leg kick. Arm action has moderate length in the back, making a clean circle, hiding the ball behind his body, before bringing it through a high-¾ slot. Fastball has some arm side run at 75-77 and touches 78 mph. Curveball shows near 12/6 shape with depth at 65-66 mph. Changeup is thrown with full arm speed at 73-74 mph with arm-side run and cut to the glove side. |
Rhett Kouba RHP / OF / El Reno, OK / 2018The North Central Texas College commit has a lean 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame with room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works only from the stretch with a controlled delivery and high leg kick before exploding to the dish. Arm action is long and loose in the back before coming through a ¾ slot with whippy arm speed. Fastball sits 87-89 mph with heavy, late, and consistent arm-side run, mostly strikes. Slider has 10/4 shape with late wipe-out action at 79-81 mph. Changeup is thrown with full arm speed and has consistent late fade and depth at 78-80 mph. |
William Long RHP / OF / Metro Christian Academy, OK / 2021A proportional 5-foot-10, 160-pound frame. On the mound, the right-hander works only from the stretch with a controlled delivery and a high leg kick before striding far across his body and finishing to the plate. Arm action is long in the back with a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball shows consistent cut at 70-73 mph. Changeup shows run and fade at 67-69 mph. Breaking ball shows slurve action from a slightly lower slot at 62-63 mph with some depth. |
Ryan Lynn RHP / 1B / Broken Arrow, OK / 2020A physically impressive 6-foot-4, 215-pound frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with excellent rhythm. Arm action has length in the back, making a fluid and clean circle before coming through an over the top slot. Fastball sits 78-81 with downhill tilt and some arm-side run. Changeup has some sink at 72-73 mph. Curveball is still developing some 11/5 shape, 65-66 mph. |

Slider has 10/4 shape and gradual break at 61-62 mph. Changeup is thrown with full arm speed and shows consistent late fade and depth at 68-69 mph. |
Masen McCurry 3B / RHP / Cleveland, OK / 2019A 6-foot-2, 193-pound frame with broad shoulders and a defined lower half. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery and a high and controlled leg kick. Arm action is long in the back with a wrist hook before coming through an over the top slot. Fastball sits 78-81 mph with occasional cut, especially to the glove side. Slider shows short 10/4 shape, dropping his arm angle slightly. Curveball shows 11/5 shape with some depth at 64-68 mph. |

On the mound, the right-hander works from a controlled delivery with a small leg lift and a short and closed off stride. Arm action is long, fluid, and loose in the back before coming through an over the top slot with some arm speed. Fastball sat 77-78 mph with some downhill tilt on this day and has been reported to have made a recent jump. Changeup keeps its plane at 68-69 mph. Curveball is still developing with near 12/6 shape at 68-70 mph. |
Parker Whittle RHP / C / Regent Preparatory, OK / 2021A durable 6-foot, 192-pound frame with some strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from a controlled delivery with rhythm and a moderate leg kick before exploding towards the dish. Arm action is long and loose in the back with a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke before coming through an over the top slot with some arm speed. Fastball keeps its plane at 78-80 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball shows 11/5 shape with rolling action at 58-59 mph. Changeup is thrown with near fastball arm speed and shows soft fade at 71-72 mph. |
