OK Preseason All-State Analysis: Outfielders

PBR OK hosted the third annual OK Preseason All-State Showcase at the state of the art World Baseball Outreach indoor facility. There were nearly 95 invite-only players showcased their skill in front of the PBR OK staff, 3 colleges and a pro scout. The talented event saw ten sub 7.00 60s, nine 90+ exit velos, 16 infield velos of 80+, four outfield velos of 85+, seven sub 2.00 second pop times, and 23 max fastballs at 80+ mph. Players profiles have been updated with stats, pictures, and video. The number below do not represent a players all-time best, only what they achieved at this event.

Today, we take an in-depth look at the 17 outfielders from the event.
Ashton Bennight OF / LHP / Tuttle, OK / 2023Demonstrated feel for a long and lean 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame with obvious projectability and athleticism in his frame. The left-handed hitter begins with a balanced, open stance utilizing a leg-lift stride to initiate his swing. Gets tall at the point of contact while hitting into a stiff front side with a quick barrel that enters the hitting zone on a flat path. Consistently was on time and peppered the middle of the field off the tee registering an 83 mph bat-exit velocity, but showed more pop in BP. Ran a 7.18 60-yard dash. The primary outfielder featured advanced footwork with long, athletic actions during defensive evaluations arriving to the ball on time and playing through it with regularity. A fluid high ¾ arm-slot with whip created accurate 86 mph throws from his position with carry. |
Alec Cinocca OF / RHP / Broken Arrow, OK / 2021Demonstrated a lean and twitchy 5-foot-7, 155-pound frame with feel for his body and room to fill out and add strength as he matures. The right-handed hitter begins with an open stance with hands tight at the shoulder and utilizes a short lift-and-replaces stride to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Showcased sink into a twitchy lower half allowing for consistent barrel awareness as evidenced by a 79 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran the fastest 60 time at the event posting a 6.75The outfielder displayed solid footwork creating momentum towards the target with regularity. Arrived on time to the baseball allowing for accurate 84 mph arm-strength out of a fluid, high ¾ arm-slot. |
Parker Collins OF / 3B / Owasso, OK / 2021Showcased a stocky 5-foot-10, 193-pound frame demonstrating physicality and some feel for his body. The right-handed hitter starts with a bent, narrow stance initiating his swing with a controlled toe-tap stride. Displayed sink into the lower half while generating a flat barrel path through the hitting zone with regularity. Hit into a stiff front side while registering an 82 mph bat-exit velocity off the tee. Featured adequate barrel awareness with a middle of the field approach and some barrel whip. Ran a 7.43 60-yard dash. The primary outfielder showcased adequate footwork with a low center of gravity and feet that arrived on time to the baseball. Recorded an accurate 67 mph arm-strength from his position using a short, high ¾ arm-slot which will improve with a longer takeaway. |
Jake Garvey OF / Broken Arrow, OK / 2022Displayed a lean 5-foot-8, 160-pound frame with feel for his hands and room to fill out as he matures. The right-handed hitter begins with a narrow, open stance utilizing a quick toe-tap stride to initiate a flat barrel path into the hitting zone. Showcased a line drive approach off the tee using the middle of the field primarily. Registered a 78 mph bat-exit velocity and recorded a 7.45 60-yard dash. The primary outfielder demonstrated adequate footwork that arrived to the ball on time with regularity allowing for an accurate 71 mph arm-strength from his position out of a high ¾ arm-slot. |
Collin Godfrey OF / 3B / Bishop Kelley, OK / 2021Showcased a physical 6-foot-2, 215-pound frame with present strength and feel for his body. The left-handed hitter begins with a tall, even stance utilizing a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. The barrel whips through a slightly uphill path into the hitting zone while extending through the contact point. Displayed sink into a strong lower half allowing for bat-exit velocities of 81 mph with room for more off the tee. Ran a 7.45 60-yard dash. The primary outfielder demonstrated solid footwork arriving on time with regularity to the baseball. Jordan Griswold LHP / OF / Southwest Covenant, OK / 2022Displayed a lean 5-foot-8, 135-pound frame with room to fill out as he matures. The left-handed hitter begins with a bent, even stance utilizing a short lift and replace stride to initiate his swing. The barrel enters the zone through a flat path allowing for a line drive approach. Hips showed sway to the front side early and created some roll over tendencies. Demonstrated a strong top hand through the zone while hitting into a stiff front side evidenced by a 75 mph bat-exit velocity off the tee. Showcased fluid and easy actions during defensive evaluations with feet that arrived on time and played through the baseball. Recorded accurate 80 mph throws to the plate from his position out of a quick, high ¾ arm-slot. |
Levi Gunn OF / SS / Cascia Hall, OK / 2020Demonstrated a physical 5-foot-11, 175-pound frame with present athleticism. The switch hitter mirrors from both sides of the plate with a bent, even setup utilizing an upward hand load coupled with a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Lower half sink allows for the barrel to enter the zone through a flat path generating a line-drive approach to the middle of the field. Displayed barrel whip through contact point allowing for the usage of all fields. Recorded an 81 mph bat-exit velocity off the tee and ran a 6.81 60-yard dash. |
Grayson Hall OF / SS / Bishop Kelley, OK / 2021Showcased a long and lean 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame with physicality in his actions. Jaxon Mctyre OF / C / Sallisaw, OK / 2021Showcased an athletic 6-foot, 190-pound frame with present strength in his actions. The right-handed hitter begins with an open stance utilizing a leg-kick to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Hit into a soft front side with an easy, repeatable swing that allowed for advanced barrel awareness off the tee. Registered an 88 mph bat-exit velocity and ran a 7.56 60-yard dash.
