Team Ohio Future Games Spotlight: Alex Theis, LHP/OF
July 24, 2015
By Dylan Hefflinger
Ohio Editor in Chief/NW Scout
On July 30th through August 1st, PBR Ohio will take a select team of players in the Classes of 2017 and 2018 to represent Ohio at the PBR Future Games in Indianapolis at Grand Park.
Players receive exposure unlike any other event for underclassmen. Last year, 100+ colleges from all over the country were in attendance, including coaches from every Division I power conference in the country. Only players who have a legitimate shot at being a Division I recruit and who have an interest in the possibility of making a verbal commitment during their sophomore or junior seasons have been considered.

Left-handed hitter starts from a wider, balanced set up. He uses a smooth hands back to shoulder trigger, does a good job using both sides of the field, gets good extension after contact on follow through. He ran a 4.38 down the line. On the mound the lefty uses a clean arm action with average armspeed coming from a ¾ slot. His delivery requires regular effort. He was mostly up in the zone with his command and release point on this occasion. His fastball ranged from 78-82 mph with some natural tail movement. Curveball showed signs of being sharp at times and was consistently thrown at 74 mph. His changeup showed similar action as his fastball at 70-71 mph.
