Today we begin to breakdown players from the Mid-Atlantic Summer Championships that occurred last week. We will begin with a three part series on the 17U age bracket.
Mid-Atlantic Summer Championships 17U Part I of III:
Strong, physical frame. Easy swing from the left side with a great feel for the barrel. Starts from an open stance with rhythm. Stays behind the ball well with quick hands and fast bat speed through the zone. Short to the ball with strength and power present.
2021 C Chase Waddell (James Hunt NC)
— PBR Virginia/DC (@PBRVirginiaDC) July 1, 2020
Really like the actions and fluidity of Waddell. Quick hands at the dish with solid extension through contact. Shows power to all fields. Double here down left field line. @PBRTournaments @PrepBaseballNC #PBRMASC pic.twitter.com/ZBM2Hka2wM
Athletic frame. Quick footwork and transfers behind the dish with a strong arm. Receives and blocks well. Small leg kick load and stays short to the ball with quick hands and bat speed. Slightly uphill swing path. Gap-to-gap approach with pop.
Nice swing here from 2021 C Kade Abrisz (Menchville). Deep sac-fly to left for an RBI. Athletic frame, solid behind the dish, receives well, strong arm. @PBRTournaments @PBRVirginiaDC #PBRMASC pic.twitter.com/dZ0W5tdVAF

Quick arm and Heavy fastball that plays down in the zone with occasional arm side run. Devastating breaking ball with command evident. FB sat 84-86 and BB sat 71-73. Two scoreless innings so far @PBRTournaments #PBRMASC pic.twitter.com/jWc2urabwK
Nick Moran LHP Wake Forest (NC) 2021
Repeatable delivery with solid usage of the lower half. Hips and shoulders have slight uphill tilt moving down the mound and front leg leg is soft on landing. Hands break in rhythm and arm stroke is long and loose from a three-quarter arm slot. Lacked control early on and got into some tough spots versus a solid lineup, but was able to work through and settle in. Fastball was 82-84 early and settle in at 80-83 later in the game.
2021 LHP Nick Moran (Wake Forest)

Projectable 6-2 frame with long loose 3/4 arm. FB has been 82-84. Struggled with feel early, but has settled in and throwing well for Team Elite American 17U. @PrepBaseballNC @PBRTournaments #PBRMASC pic.twitter.com/cJU9y6rfKN
Jacob Williams RHP Wakefield (NC) 2021
Strong durable frame at 6-foot-4 and still has some room to fill out. Arm circle is quick and whippy from a low three-quarter arm slot and got on hitters quick. Appeared to be a tough look from both sides as he had a little crossfire action to lefties. Fastball played to both ends of the zone. The fastball was 86-89 in the first and settled in at 84-86 in the second inning of relief. Slider was inconsistent, but flashed tight 11/5 action at 73-74 mph. Profiles as a bullpen arm and a legitimate one that I could see adding significant velo to that frame.
Uncommitted alert:

Sammy Burman 1B Friends Central (PA) 2022
Crouched open stance from the left side. Hands work in rhythm with the leg lift and load back to a strong position at foot strike. Solid posture and balance at contact with a short slightly uphill path. Displays gap to gap doubles power and the ability to hit for average. Had a solid offensive showing throughout the tournament.
