Magnolia State Games Spotlight: C Banks Teater

As we are inching closer to the 2024 Magnolia State Games, our staff has decided to take a look back at some top performers from previous Magnolia State Games who would earn an invite to the Prep Baseball Future Games and then go on to announce their commitment following both of the premier invite-only events.
Today we highlight '25 C Banks Teater, a Southern Miss recruit who attended the Magnolia State Games in the summer of 2022 and would represent Mississippi at the 2022 Prep Baseball Future Games over in Emerson, GA.

Body: 6-0, 170-pounds. Lean and athletic frame, proportional. Well developed.
Hits: LHH. Tall, balanced stance with hands relaxed and inside back shoulder. Easy and smooth from the left side, consistently finding the barrel. Mature and advanced approach.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 83.7 MPH. 316' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-74 mph. Loose, quick arm action
Defense: 1.94-2.15 pop times. Solid presence in set up with quick feet, and good direction. Body stays controlled on throws to 2nd. Advanced skill set on blocks and bunts and very good recovery on both.
Positional Profile: C/1B
Body: 6-0, 170-pounds. Lean, athletic build with broad shoulders.
Hit: LHH. Tall, balanced stance, relaxed hand set. Easy, controlled load and stride. Very quick bat with upward path. Tons of gap to gap pop with more coming. Plenty of upside to this swing.
Power: 90.4 max exit velocity, averaged 84.6 mph. 332’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 76 mph. Short, quick arm action.
Defense: 2.00-2.03 pop times. Good direction on throws, next level upside, solid body positioning on blocks and bunts though still developing at position.

Hit: (LHH) Above average confident. Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth rhythmic load, then uses a small leg kick. Explosive bat speed. Good extension on his finish, upward swing. Gap to gap approach.
Power: , average 80.7 mph.
Defense: (C) 1.97-2.17 pop times. Sure hands, athletic footwork, clean exchange. Advanced.
Arm: 78 mph infield velocity. 74 mph catcher velocity. Quick arm action, high ¾ slot, consistent accuracy.
