+ LHP/OF Gardner Young (Jackson Prep, 2025) was fairly solid in his first outing on the mound in 2024. The still uncommitted Future Gamer shook off a little early rust and finished his 3 inning stint with no problem. Young worked his running fastball in the 86-88 mph range which could increase a few miles per hour as the weather begins to warms up. The lefty also used his 12/6 tumbling curveball primarily back door to righties with plenty of awkward takes and swings. Look for Young to be a another go to arm this season as the Patriots try to claim yet another MAIS 6A state title.
