On Sunday, November 1, Prep Baseball Report Kansas and Missouri held the Fall Underclass Games in Manhattan, Kansas. Over 65 players in the 2018 and 2019 classes participated.
Player's profiles have been updated with video, times and velocities. We broke down all position players, today we will break down the pitchers. The pitchers are listed below in alphabetical order.

PITCHERS
Pryce Anderson, RHP, Labette County (KS), 2018
Anderson is a 6-foot 169-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Anderson’s fastball topped at 77 mph, working 75-76 mph, over the top release, controlled wind up, accelerated down the mound, lands in line with athletic finish, throws with some effort and clean arm action. 12-to-6 shaped curveball 62-64 mph.
Drew Black, RHP, Blue Valley Northwest (KS), 2018
Black is a 6-foot-2 165-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Black worked mainly inside to LHH, throwing with a high three-quarters release, loose arm action, quick arm speed, throws with some effort, fastball mostly straight at 78-79 mph, curveball at 65-66 mph, 11-to-5 action, smooth rhythm in conventional delivery, repeats well, land in line, athletic finish, projectable build with room to add weight and strength.
Chase Elias, LHP, St. Thomas Aquinas (KS), 2018
Elias is a 5-foot-10 160-pound left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Elias has an over the top release, throws a high number of strikes with three pitches. Fastball mainly 69-71, works both sides of plate, 1-to-7 curveball, 57-62 mph, late action, change up at 58-61 mph, arm side sink, simple and repeatable delivery, smooth tempo, arm action and build would suggest increased velocity over next several months.
Austin Gerety, RHP, Nemaha Central (KS), 2019
Gerety is a 6-foot 208-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Gerety as a strong drop and drive type delivery, has one of the event’s best fastball velos at 82 mph, working consistently at 80-81 mph, fastball showed late life with running action, works on a downhill plane. Gerety challenged hitters with fastball earning three strikeouts and allowing one hit during his inning. Curveball has 11-to-5 action, late movement on same plane as fastball, fastball arm speed. He throws with some effort, quick arm speed, loose action, body stays under control during delivery.
Daniel Hammond, RHP, Rockhurst (MO), 2019
Hammond is a 5-foot-10 160-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Hammond is controlled throughout delivery, works from an over the top release point, throws with regular effort and finishes in an athletic position. Fastball touched 78 mph, sitting 74-77 mph, curveball was 67-68 mph, with 12-to-6 action.
Grant Heizer, RHP, Lee’s Summit (MO), 2019
Heizer is a 5-foot-8 135-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Heizer has a high three-quarters release, in line stride, controlled leg lift and loose arm action. He stays away from the middle of the plate, working both corners, fastball 78 mph max, worked at 74-76 mph, curveball showed 11-to-5 action at 65-64 mph, sharp action.
Liam Henry, LHP, Park Hill (MO), 2018
Henry is a 6-foot-2 160-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class. Henry posted the top fastball velo of the day at 85 mph, threw a high percentage of strikes, three strikeouts, a walk and a hit during inning of work, high three quarters release, late running action on fastball, 2-to-8 action on curveball, late sharp break, fastball arm speed, 74 mph change-up, simple delivery, repeats well, lands in line with athletic finish. High ceiling both as pitcher and position player.
Connor Hughes, RHP, Olathe North (KS), 2018
Hughes is a 5-foot-10 170-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Hughes threw strikes with three pitches, fastball at 70-73 mph, curveball at 59-61 mph, down in zone, 12-to-6 shape, change up at 64-65 mph, arm side release, near fastball arm speed, struckout two and allowed two hits during inning of work, smooth tempo in delivery, repeats release, lands inline with athletic finish.
Nick Johnson, RHP, Rockhurst (MO), 2018
Johnson is a 6-foot 170-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class. Johnson threw fastball at 75-77 mph, touching 78 mph, high leg lift working with hands, accelerates down mound, lands in line, throws with some effort, works both sides of plate, curveball has 11-to-5 action, 63-64 mph, change up consistently down in zone 68-69 mph.
Carter Jones, LHP, Shawnee Mission East (KS), 2019
Jones is a 5-foot-10 165-pound left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Jones has a smooth rhythm in his delivery, some deception, hides the ball well, arm works, 64-66 mph fastball, some with late run, curveball has 2-to-8 action, keeps down in zone, 59-60 mph, gradual break, change up at 61-63 mph, slight arm side release, walked two and struck out two in inning of work.
Ethan Kaus, RHP, Manhattan (KS), 2018
Kaus is a 6-foot-1 6-foot-1 185-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas 2018 class. Kaus has an over-the-top release, throws with some effort and a quick tempo between pitches, creates direction towards the plate during delivery, struck out two and walked one in outing, fastball at 76-78 mph, curveball at 66-71 mph, 11-to-5 shape.
Devon Lujan, RHP, Olathe East (KS), 2018
Lujan is a 6-foot-1 196-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Lujan has a high three-quarters release, simple and repeatable tall and fall type delivery, strides inline, fastball at 75-79 mph, straight, curveball has 11-to-5 shaped, 70-73 mph, throws for a strike. One of the top right-handed fastball velos on the day.
Cole Machovsky, LHP, Shawnee Mission East (KS), 2018
Machovsky is a 6-foot-2 185-pound left-handed pitcher in Kansa’ 2018 class. Machovsky throws with a controlled tempo, slight tuck at balance point, over the top release, stays in line as he gets down mound, fastball at 73-76 mph, gradual 1-to-7 shape on curveball at 60-63 mph, one of the top left-handed fastball velos on the day.
Carson Marsh, LHP, Manhattan (KS), 2018
Marsh is a 6-foot 172-pound left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Marsh is a strike thrower, fastball 71-75 mph, high three quarters release, short stride to the plate, controlled tempo and rhythm during delivery with quick step and throw, curveball at 63-64 mph, 1-to-7 shape, arm works, projectable pitchers frame.
Brayden Mooers, LHP, Blue Valley (KS), 2019
Mooers is a 5-foot-7 110-pound left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Lean build with loose arm action, threw strikes with three pitches, worked fastball 68-69 mph, touches 70 mph, slight arm side run, 1-to-7 shaped curveball at 56-57 mph, change up with sink at 61-63 mph, body stays under control during delivery with slight tuck at balance point.
Garrett Morrow, LHP, Grain Valley (MO), 2018
Morrow is a 5-foot-10 165-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class. Morrow posted one of the top left-handed fastball velos on the day at 80 mph, quick tempo in delivery, aggressive down the mound, attacks hitters, over the top release, in line stride, repeats release point, throw high percentage of strikes, slight run on fastball, curveball has 1-to-7 shape, 57-63 mph, change up was a good pitch, 65-68 mph, down in zone with sink.
Connor Nekola, RHP, Mill Valley (KS), 2018
Nekola is a 5-foot-10 150-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Nekola worked his fastball at 72-75 mph, over-the-top release, works both sides of plate, change up at 66-67, slight sink, near fastball arm speed, curveball has gradual 11-to-5 break, 59 mph, slow and controlled windup, throws with regular effort, slender from with quick arm speed.
Jacob Peterson, RHP, Blue Valley Southwest (KS), 2018
Peterson is a 6-foot-1 160-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Peterson threw a high percentage of strikes with fastball and curveball, working fastball at 72-75 mph, slight late run, breaking ball at 65-66 mph, 12-to-6 action, down in zone, late break, fastball arm speed, change up at 67 mph, over the top release, repeatable release point, arm works, throws with regular effort, works both sides of plate, able to keep hitters of balance with fastball and breaking ball.
Garrett Presko, RHP, Pembroke Hill (MO), 2018
Presko is a 6-foot-2 185-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Presko threw top RHP velo at 83 mph, sitting 77-82 mph and throwing mainly fastball and change up, controllable change up at 72-75 mph, fastball arm speed, arm side release, over the top arm slot, aggressive down the mound, in line direction, throws on downhill plane, quick arm speed, body stays under control.
Nick Purcell, RHP, Bishop Miege (KS), 2018
Purcell is a 6-foot-1 160-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Purcell challenged hitters with three pitches in the zone, fastball at 73-75 mph, 12-to-6 breaking ball, 59-62 mph, down in zone, change up at 69 mph, near fastball arm speed, works quick between pitches, smooth rhythm and tempo in repeatable delivery, arm works.
Kaden Rayman, RHP, Fair Grove (MO), 2019
Rayman is a 6-foot 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Rayman throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, some deception in release, hiding ball, slight tuck and coil at balance point, throws with regular effort, and consistent tempo, fastball at 68-70 mph, slight run, 66-67 mph breaking ball, 11-to-5 shape,
Trey Riggs, RHP, Hays (KS), 2019
Riggs is a 5-foot-11 140-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas 2019 class. Riggs worked the corners with his fastball, throws for a strike, 73-75 mph, 11-to-5 action on breaking ball, 65-68 mph, change up at 71 mph, controlled leg lift, coil at balance point, high three-quarters release, throws slightly across body at times, throws with regular effort and smooth rhythm, loose arm action.
Bobby Rivera, RHP, Blue Springs South (MO), 2019
Rivera is a 5-foot-8 130-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Rivera throws with a high three-quarters arm slot, holds hands high with controlled leg lift, in line stride, accelerated rhythm and tempo, stays away from middle of plate with fastball at 71-76 mph, curveball with 11-to-5 shape, 61-65 mph,
Jared Sharp, LPH, Blue Valley Southwest (KS), 2018
Sharp is a 5-foot-8 150-pound left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Sharp has a simple delivery, high three-quarters arm slot, loose arm action, consistently in strike zone with fastball at 70-73 mph, slight late run, controllable curveball at 60-64 mph, 1-to-7 action, smooth rhythm and tempo, throws with regular effort, strides in line, hands raise with knee lift, strike thrower.
Mickey Simpson, RHP, Grain Valley (MO), 2019
Simpson is a 5-foot-5 115-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Threw mostly fastballs at 64-67 mph, change up at 61 mph, holds hand high throughout delivery, controlled body, throws with regular effort, clean arm action, stays in line down the mound, works ball around zone, throws strikes.
Marcus Smith, LPH, Pembroke Hill (MO), 2019
Smith is a 5-foot-8 145-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Smith works hands with knee lift, high three quarters slot, arm works, in line stride, athletic finish, works mostly inside to LHH, repeats, controlled rhythm, fastball at 72-75 mph, slight run.
Zach Todd, RHP, Shawnee Mission West (KS), 2018
Todd is a 5-foot-10 180-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Todd’s fastball has two-seam running action with late life, 78-80 mph, one of the top fastball velos for the event, 11-to-5 shaped breaking ball, 66-67 mph, change up at 73 mph, struck out two hitters in outing, walked one, hands raise with leg lift, high three-quarters arm slot, aggressive down the mound, slightly across body, challenges hitters, throws with some effort, arm works.
Gabriel Whipple, RHP, Rockhurst (MO), 2019
Whipple is a 6-foot-1 145-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Whipple was 69-73 mph with fastball, throw with regular effort, slight tuck at balance point, in line stride, high three-quarters release, drop and drive type delivery, breaking ball at 60 mph, smooth rhythm.
Jakob Woods, RHP, Maryville (MO), 2018
Woods is a 6-foot-2 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class.
