San Jacinto vs. Grayson

HUNTSVILLE, TX - San Jacinto College took on Grayson College on Monday at Sam Houston State’s Don Sanders Stadium.

San Jac put up multiple crooked numbers offensively early on. Sophomore 3B Ryan Hernandez(committed to Houston) had two home runs and four RBI, freshman 2B Zach Limas had two hits and a home run and freshman 1B Adam Houghtaling had two hits and three RBI.

Freshman RHP Bryant Salgado got the start going 2+ IP allowing 6 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits with 2 walks and a strikeout. San Jac got scoreless outings from freshman LHP Evan Hiatt, sophomore RHP Zach De Leon (committed to UTSA), sophomore RHP Dylan Lester (committed to Pitt), sophomore RHP Luis Quinones (committed to Southeastern University) and sophomore LHP Luke Little(committed to South Carolina). Sophomore RHP Jack Conlon (committed to Rice) pitches the 9th allowing two runs on three hits with a strikeout.

Grayson was led offensively by freshman SS Blake Rambusch with three hits and freshman DH Josh Rodriguez and freshman OF Will Quillen who both had two RBI.

On the bump, sophomore LHP Cohen Bell threw 3.1 scoreless IP allowing two hits and three walks with five strikeouts, mixing a low-80’s fastball with a mid-70’s changeup. Freshman RHP Steve Hayward also threw a scoreless 8th inning with a strikeout.

SCOUT NOTES

Luke Little, LHP, San Jac, 2019
South Carolina commit. Estimated 6-foot-8, 245-pound durable frame. The left-hander throws from a high ¾ slot with a long arm swing. His fastball was 94-96 mph, touching 97 mph, flashing command to both sides of the plate and low in the zone. Threw two breaking balls, a curveball and slider. Curveball was 78-80 mph with 11-5 shape, flashing the ability to land it in the zone on the arm side while the slider was 81-83 mph. Also threw a changeup that was 84-85 mph with late life and sink.
