02.05.17 6-foot-5, 175-pounds. The right-hander has a deceptive delivery, working with a quick arm stroke from a high-¾ slot. His fastball sat mostly 85-86 mph. His slider has tightened up quite a bit since the last time we saw him, now ranging from 73-78 mph with 11/5 shape.

06.14.17 6-foot-5, 175-pound, wiry projectable frame. The right-hander works from an over the top slot with a long arm stroke and some effort in a tilt and topple delivery. His fastball has heavy action at 86-88 mph, topping out out at 88 and 89 during his two innings of work. He located his fastball to both his arm and glove side at the bottom of the zone with run and cut. Hayward's fastball jumps out of his hand and gets on top of hitters quickly. His slider has 11-5 shape with erratic command at 78 mph. His changeup has slight fade at 78-80 mph.
