May 14, 2020
With the recent release of our Updated Class of 2021 State Rankings, our scouting staff took a deeper dive into the prospects in the 2021 class. By position, we will comb through the list, highlighting some of the top talent in each class. In this installment, we will take a look at left-handed pitchers in the 2021 class.
Louisiana's 2021 player rankings includes 24 right-handed pitchers overall including 3 prospects ranked in the top 15, 11 in the top 50 and 17 in the top 100. At the top of the right-handed pitcher rankings is Louisiana’s No. 3 overall prospect and Mississippi State recruit, Jack Walker (Barbe HS). The durable right-hander is coming back from injury but has shown a big arm over the course of his high school career.
Walker is followed up by No. 8 Blake McGehee (Tioga HS), the Ole Miss recruit was a Future Games participant in 2019 with a front line starter profile. Rounding out the top 3 is Alabama recruit and No. 13 Kade Woods (Ouachita Christian HS) another power arm righty that recently reclassified from the 2022 class.
