2018 PBR Junior Future Games Team Florida Quick Hits

The 2018 PBR Junior Future Games features the best identified prospects from across the PBR Coverage Area in a four-day event at Grand Park in Westfield, IN. Participants are given the unique opportunity of competing against other top-level players while representing their respective state in a high-level atmosphere. The event consists of a workout day and four pool play games.
Team Florida played their first two games on Friday which took on Team Kentucky in their first game followed by Team New York in their second one. Below we take a look at some of the early notes and quick hits from the first two of four games at the 2018 PBR Junior Future Games:
Cade Kurland, MIF/RHP, Berkeley Prep, FL (2023)
One of the youngest players on the team has impressed over the first couple days where he has shown a strong arm at 82 mph across the infield (which tied for the team lead) and above average bat speed at the plate which included a line drive single during the second game. Tied for the team lead in exit velocity at 87 mph off a tee. Aggressive runner on the base paths who gets good jumps on the pitcher. Clocked in at 7.39 secs for his 60 yard dash time. Above average overall feel for the game for his age and will be a high follow for his class as he continues to mature.
Tyler LeJeune, MIF, Iota HS, LA (2022)
Stood out all over the field where he impressed offensively and defensively. Offensively, he shows above average bat speed from the left side and frequently finds the barrel. Collected three hits during the first two games which included two doubles and a single along with two RBIs. One of the doubles came during the second game when he drove a ball deep down the right field line. Defensively, he shows athletic actions, confident hands, and an accurate arm across the field. Clocked in at 7.39 secs for his 60 yard dash time.
Logan Smith, MIF, Ida Baker HS, FL (2022)
Shows athletic actions in the middle with an above average arm across the diamond at 82 mph (which tied for the team lead). At the plate, he shows a level path through the zone with quick hands and present bat speed. Drove a ball to the outfield for an RBI double in the second game.
Garrett Mackowiak, OF/LHP, Wiregrass Ranch HS, FL (2022)
Shows a quick bat from the left side of the plate with a level to slightly uphill path through the zone, displaying the ability to drive the ball into the outfield with intent. Had a single in the first game followed by a hard line drive RBI single in the second game. Tracks down the ball in the gaps in centerfield and has a strong and accurate arm which topped out at 82 mph on his throws.
Matt Rose, 3B/RHP, Clearwater Central Catholic HS, FL (2022)
Showed a quick arm on the mound where he sat 75-80 mph with his fastball. Also delivered an RBI single during the first game. Registered an 85 mph exit velocity in the cage. Clocked in at 7.30 secs for his 60 yard dash time which was the fastest on the team.
Drake Harman, OF, Bloomingdale HS, FL (2022)
Shows a quick bat from the left side which translated in the game when he drove a ball back up the middle for a line drive RBI single. Also showed some range in the outfield.
Aiden Roe, OF/RHP, Desoto County HS, FL (2022)
Tall, lean frame. Offensively, he creates leverage with his long limbs and showed the ability to drive the ball into the outfield with intent. Had a line drive single during both games.
Nelson Ramos, OF/3B, Northeast HS, FL (2022)
Strong frame that generates hard, solid contact when he squares it up. Tied for the team lead in exit velocity at 87 mph off a tee. Had a single in the second game.
