STL Force Scout Day: Infield Analysis

Prep Baseball Report-Missouri held the STL Force Scout Day on January 25 at the STL Force training facility, Champions Village, in Fenton, MO. Fourty players attended the event, with the majority of players in the 2023 and 2024 classes.
Today, we will take a look at the infielders from the day, many from a talented 2024 class. Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance. Players listed below are in alphabetical order.

INFIELDERS
Nicholas Alagna OF / SS / Fort Zumwalt West, MO / 2024Alagna is a 5-foot-3 100-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2024 class. He ran a 5.03 home to first and had a 68 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, shifts weight slightly to back leg to load with toe tap on front toe, short in line stride, quiet hands, repeats swing, gap to gap approach. Dominic Anselmo C / 3B / Marquette, MO / 2024Anselmo is a 5-foot-11 160-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2024 class. He ran a 4.69 home to first and had an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, minimal load and hand movement, toe tap to in line stride, loose hand with quick bat speed, showed the ability to hit to both gaps, simple and repeatable. On the infield, short over the top arm slot, quick transfer and throw, fluid footwork to the ball, soft hands, 71 mph positional velocity. |
Logan Cowick 3B / RHP / Fort Zumwalt West, MO / 2024Cowick is a 5-foot-10 170-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2024 class. He ran a 4.57 home to first and has a 79 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, pre swing rhythm in hands, starts hand high, short in line stride, some lift to path with high finish, works ball gap to gap. Chase DeQuasie SS / RHP / Columbia, IL / 2024DeQuasie is a long and slender 5-foot-6 130-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Illinois’ 2024 class.
