Madison Preseason I.D.: Pitcher Analysis
April 12, 2018
We’re onto our final positional breakdown today, our pitchers analysis, before we release our top overall prospects from the Madison Preseason I.D. event tomorrow.
There were a number of arms that stood out to us last month at the event and an interesting portion of them were underclassmen. Specifically freshman Vincent Trapani (Eau Claire Memorial), who is clearly one of the premium arms in the state already. He showed us a hard fastball with life that he paired with a sharp curveball he demonstrated confidence in. He’s got a tantalizing arsenal and frame that makes him among the highest follows in his class.
Sophomores Ryan Stefiuk (Green Bay Preble; Vanderbilt commit), Luke Fox (Catholic Memorial), and Tyler Chadwick (Marshall) were predictably strong in their bullpens, but Carter Endisch (Arrowhead) and Connor Kurki (Iola-Scandinavia) did well to put themselves on the prospects map.
Endisch tassed one of the day’s best curveballs while Kurki stood out -- literally -- for his lean and large frame and potential three-pitch mix.
Junior Jacob Arndt (Oconomowoc) had been tapped as an underclassman with the potential to make a leap in velocity and he showed us those gains at last month’s event. He found his way onto our top-10 2019s list.
Continue on below for reports on each of the pitchers who took the mound at March’s Madison showcase. For a look at the previously posted analysis of the event’s catchers click HERE, outfielders click here, and infielders click HERE.
