Summer Uncommitted Spotlight: Jared Givins

Prep Baseball Georgia
Staff

Uncommitted. A strong summer for the rising junior, as Givins was an impressive bat in the line-up for a talented Titans ball club. He put together a solid .350 batting average with an on-base percentage flirting with .400. Racked up close to 10 extra-base hits while showing off the pull-side and back-side power. A dependable bat in the top-4 of the batting order with hard contact and consistent approaches. 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame with strength and power in the barrel with an advanced approach with an extremely disciplined eye. Throughout the entirety of the summer, Givins put together some of the longest at-bats, fouling off pitches, spitting on the off-speed while waiting for something left out over the plate. Maturity in the box is loud, very excited for this young player with the hit tool on full display. A high follow going into the preseason.

Scouting Report

6/18/24

Uncommitted. Solid day at the plate going 2-for-3 with a loud barrel to clear the bases in the top of the first inning on Friday afternoon. Two solid knocks, one to deep left-center field, and another through the 3-4 hole into right-field. Semi-wide stance at the plate, loose hands, shows quick bat speed and has a present feel for the barrel. Hitting in the 5-spot, he had great at-bats, battled deep into counts and made good adjustments with two strikes.
