Underclass Games: Right-Handed Pitcher Analysis
October 22, 2020
On Tuesday, June 2nd, PBR Georgia hosted the second annual Underclass Games for the top 2022-204 prospects. Approximately 110 uncommitted prospects from around the state descended upon LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for a pro-style workout and simulated game.
We near conclude our analysis of the Underclass Games with a breakdown of arguably the most talented group at the event: right-handed pitchers. South Carolina commit RHP Adrian Roman (East Coweta, 2022) leads the pack after an extremely impressive day. Roman has a projectable frame that has quite a bit of filling out to do, plus he has a long loose arm, running the ball up to 89. The big right-hander also showed a swing and miss breaking ball and a usable changeup. Oklahoma State commit RHP Luke Fernandez (West Forsyth, 2022) has seen consistent upticks over the past 12 months, now running his fastball up to 88. Add in the use of a slider to go along with his curveball and changeup
The two strongest arms on the mound come in next. Texas A&M commit RHP Colin Linder (Lambert, 2022) ran his fastball up to 91, an event high, and featured a spin rate north of 2500 rpm on the pitch. Notre Dame commit RHP Caden Spivey (Vidalia, 2022) got his fastball up to 90 and showed a lightning quick arm. Spivey has a potential swing and miss slider and a split-change that has potential as well.
Keep reading to see who rounds out the top-10 from the Underclass Games, plus reports on every right-handed pitcher in attendance.
