2022 Rankings - Colorado Breakdown
With another summer in the rearview mirror, our staff has had another chance to evaluate the 2022 class heading into the winter. With the Super 60 looming in February, followed by the MLB Draft in the July, it's an important summer for this senior class.
The updated overall 2022 rankings have 500 players with six of those coming from the State of Colorado. It's an exciting class for Colorado with athletes all around and a lot to look forward in the early spring time as we ramp up our draft coverage.
Here's a breakdown of Colorado's six prospects to crack our 2022 Top 500:

Dylan Carey SS / RHP / Ponderosa, CO / 2022
No. 127 The number one player in Colorado, SS Dylan Carey, has size/athleticism you can dream on at 6-foot-3, 185-pounds and his game translates on both sides of the ball. There’s true power potential in the Nebraska commit’s right-handed bat and he works direct to the ball with lift through the zone. He’s a consistent threat to do damage at the plate and puts up a lot of quality at-bats. Carey looks the part at shortstop with confidence, soft hands and high baseball IQ. It will be really exciting to watch Carey going forward as he adds strength. A high ceiling player and it’s no surprise to see the Ponderosa shortstop so high in the rankings.

No. 208 The number two player in Colorado’s class of 2022, Christian Foutch is another high ceiling player on this list who looks the part at 6-foot-3, 190-pounds. We’ve had Chatfield right-hander up to 94 mph with good spin rates and he’s looked like a real power arm over the years. His slider works 80-82 and although there’s some inconsistencies, it has shown the potential to become a swing-and-miss pitch down the road. Foutch also mixes in a changeup at 80-82 and there’s early feel there for the pitch. With the size, athleticism on the mound and the arm, Foutch will be a fun arm to watch as the high school season rolls around.

Dallas Macias SS / RHP / Regis Jesuit, CO / 2022
No. 223 The Oregon State commit just stands out! 6-foot, 190-pound has sought the national competition and found success. Utilizing every bit of talent, he is a switch hitter and continues to pitch. He demonstrates great balance and timing from both sides of the plate. His athleticism as a SS provides range and plus footwork. This Regis Jesuit/USA Prime player has continued to show an obsession for improvement. An exciting overall toolset from Macias and it will be exciting to see just how far he can take his game in his senior season.

Reese Chapman OF / 3B / Grandview, CO / 2022
No. 258 2022 outfielder Reese Chapman has always demonstrated confidence in his game. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound left handed hitter has an attacking approach with great balance and timing. His quick hands, bat speed and connected movements give Reese legit opportunity to hit for average and power. There are great mechanics right now and projected growth and development put Reese on an elite path. The USA Prime/Grandview product has continued to trend upwards and has really established himself on a national level after his commitment to Tennessee.

Keenan Proctor OF / Valor Christian, CO / 2022
No. 289 Proctor, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound UCLA commit, oozes athleticism with game changing speed as we’ve had a 6.43 60-yard from him. It’s a short, quiet swing from the left side where he does a good job of creating leverage and separation. Proctor is a gap to gap hitter where he makes consistent hard contact and uses his speed on the bases. An exciting toolset from the Valor Christian product who’s a quality defender in the outfielder and swings it well from the left side.

No. 317 6-foot-1, 185-pound shortstop has speed and athleticism that translates on both sides of his game. The switch hitter is balanced at the plate with a middle of the field approach and can hit for average with the power continuing to enter his game. The athleticism and actions are evident at short. It’s a well-rounded game from the Stanford commit right now who does a lot of things right on the field.
