Heading into the winter, the 2022 Overall Rankings have been updated to reflect the fall season. The top of the rankings are largely unchanged, with the top 13 remaining intact and mostly subtle changes through the top 50.

The biggest change in the top 50 is the addition of RHP/3B Walter Ford (Pace HS, FL), who reclassified from 2023 and moved back to the Florida panhandle. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Alabama recruit is one of the top two-way prospects in the country with a mid-90s fastball and big right-handed power. He’s far from an unknown commodity for major league organizations, but also wasn’t at some key national events for draft prospects, so he’s bound to have a strong following early in the spring.

Also making a big jump is RHP Kassius Thomas (Sierra Canyon HS, CA). A 6-foot-1, 190-pound Duke recruit with a strong lower half and low-90s fastball, Thomas saw marked improvements with his slider this fall. It has shown the makings of being a swing-and-miss pitch and he is fearless in throwing it. LHP Levi Huesman (Hanover HS, VA), a Coastal Carolina recruit, had a strong summer and continued that momentum through the fall. Thomas and Huesman were featured in last week’s Hotlist as fall risers. RHP Javier Santos Tejada (Georgia Premier Academy, GA) climbed into the top 150 after multiple outings in which he pumped mid-90s gas.

After Thanksgiving, we’ll get into our usual recruiting coverage, looking at the classes for each of the Power Five conferences as well as highlighting non-Power Five. Expect much more in-depth then, but at a glance, Louisiana State is loaded with 12 recruits in the top 100. Vanderbilt is next with eight. With that comes significant draft risk obviously.
