SoCal Diamond Notes 2/6 - 2/17

2019 RHP/1B Tyson Heaton - Yucaipa HS - The senior BYU signee tossed five innings and a smacked a HR in an 8-1 win over Tesoro in the Newport Elks Tournament opener.

2019 RHP William St Marseille - Canyon HS - The senior Cal Baptist Commit threw 6 innings of 2 hit ball while striking out 6 and walking none in a 7-0 Win against La Habra.

2019 RHP Brock Razook - Canyon HS -  Threw 6 innings of 2 hit ball striking out 6 and walking 3 in a 1-1 Tie against La Habra.

2021 3B/2B Jacob Johnston - Ayala HS - The sophomore Towson commit went 4-for-6 with an RBI, 4 runs scored and 3 walks on the week.

2019 SS Chase Meidroth - Mira Costa HS - The senior USD commit was 2-for-2 with a double, a home run, and 3 walked. He also scored 2 Runs and added an 1 RBI.

2020 LHP Brett Wozniak - Cypress - The junior Nebraska commit had a huge week college 8 hits, 6 (1b), 1 (2b), 1 (3b). He also pitched going 5 innings of one-hit ball allowing only 1 earned run.

2020 SS/P Roman Arriaga - Troy High School - Arriaga collect 5 Hits in 10 at bats, with 4 RBIs including the game winner. He picked up the save in the season opener against Warren HS.

2019 C/OF Brant Voth - Simi Valley HS -  University of Indiana Signee. The senior went 5-for-7 that include 2 doubles, a home run,  4 RBI and a walk. He also scored 5 runs.

2020 OF Pete Crow-Armstrong - Harvard Westlake HS - The junior Vanderbilt commit had quite the opening week going  7-for-11- 4 singles, a double, a triple, and a home run. He also drove in chipped in 4 RBI.  

2020 RHP Arthur Aranda - St. Genevieve HS - Aranda threw a complete game vs Arleta finishing with 7 strikeouts, 1 walk, while scattering 6 hits and allowing 2 earned runs.  

2020 3B Kyle Binford - Newport Harbor HS - Binford went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles and 5 RBIs vs Sunny Hills on Opening Day.

2020 RHP Preston Howey - Arcadia HS - Howey threw a complete game 2-hit shutout in the season opener where he struck out 12 and didn’t walk anyone through 7 innings. No runners reached second base the entire night as Arcadia got a 1-0 walk off win the bottom of the 7th.

2020 OF Isaac Ruiz - Chino HS - The uncommitted Ruiz had a perfect week going 7-for-7 with double, 2 RBI and 4 stolen bases.

2019 LHP Garrett Mody - Beaumont High School - The senior lefty pitcher threw a no hitter vs Banning allowing just two walks to open the season.

2019 P/1B Chad Green - Whittier Christian HS - The uncommitted senior was 4-for-5 with a double, 3 runs scored, 2 RBI’s, a walk, an HBP, and a stolen base. On the mound he threw 7 innings allowing 1 run on 5 hits with 1 walk and 10 strikeouts.

2020 RHP Jake Brooks - Fountain Valley HS - The junior UCLA commit threw 5 innings of 2 hit ball striking out six and using only 60 pitches.

2019 LHP/OF Eddie Pelc - Huntington Beach HS -  The senior USD commit got the win on Tuesday going four innings of one-hit ball with 5 strikeouts and a walk. Pelc also got a two inning save on Saturday striking out 3, stranding the winning run at third in the 7th.

2019 RHP Brad Hodges - University HS - The uncommitted senior went 4.1 innings pitched with a strike out while not allowing an earned run. He did that on only 41 pitches.  

2019 1B/OF Luc Stuka - Corona del Mar HS - For the week the senior Cal State San Marcos signee was 4-for-6 including 3 singles and a homerun, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, and a stolen base.

2019 RHP/1B Julian Tellez - St Paul HS - The uncommitted senior went 5 innings allowing just 2 hits while striking out 8 and walking 1 in St. Paul’s 7-0 win.

2019 C Sebastian Garcia - St Paul HS - The senior UC Irvine commit went 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI. He also threw a perfect 6th inning in St. Paul’s 7-0 win.

2020 RHP Jamison King - Portola HS -  The uncommitted junior threw a complete game 2-hit shutout with 9 strikeouts and zero walks on only 87 pitches.  

2019 LHP Cutter Clawson - Laguna Beach HS - The senior BYU commit earned a win and notched a save while hitting over .500 on the week which included 2 homeruns.

2021 RHP/SS Eric Silva - Laguna Beach HS - The sophomore UCLA commit earned two wins and a save while posting a .700 obp with 4 stolen bases.  

2021 P/1B Alonzo Tredwell - Mater Dei HS - The sophomore UCLA commit was 3-for-5 with 3BB’s 3RBI’s 2 home runs including a walkoff in the bottom of 8th vs Damien. In his start vs ML King he got the win and pitched 4 innings while striking out 10.

2019 RHP/DH Alex Schrier - Santa Margarita HS - The senior UCSB commit, was 2-for-2 with  4 RBI, a walk, a double and a home run. On the mound he tossed 4 innings of 2 hit ball with 6 strikeouts en route to earning the win.

2020 LHP Jacob Blawn - Santiago HS - The junior USC commit tossed 6.2 innings of no-hit ball that include 8 strikeout and 4 hits. He was lifted for a reliever as he had reached his pitch count limit.

2019 1B Jesse Parraz - Alemany HS - The senior CSUN commit was 5-for-7 with 4 RBI and 2 doubles as Alemany split games, 5-4 win vs. Chatsworth, 6-3 loss to Camarillo.

2019 LHP/OF Ryan Sanders - Quartz Hill HS - Sanders 5.1 innings of no hit ball of no hit ball before finishing with allowing 2 runs on 2 hits with 3 walks and 9 strikeouts.  Also struck out 6 in his season opening start against Crespi in 5 innings.

2019 RHP Brandon Goodpaster - Yucca Valley HS - Goodpaster went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI while pitching six very solid innings finishing with 7 strikeouts, 2 walks, and allowing 5 hits and 3 earned runs.

2020 P Artemoio Morales - Desert Hot Springs -  The junior pitcher threw 5 great innings for the first win in 7 years vs Palm Springs High School.

2020 C Troy Collins - Desert Christian Academy - Collins was 6-for-6 with a single, 2 doubles and 2 home runs.  He also had 9 RBI in two games. Defensively, from catcher, he threw out the only runner who tried to steal a base, caught a no hitter, and on the mound threw 4 innings of one hit ball while striking out 9 batters.

2019 RHP Jake Thau - Redondo Union HS - The senior University of Kansas commit threw 7 innings in 2 starts, no hits, 11ks and 1 walk.

2020 P Richard Hudson - Antelope Valley HS - The junior pitcher threw a complete game that included 13 strikeouts against only 1 walk. He scattered 4 hits while allowing 1 run. During one stretch he struck out 7 consecutive hitters.
