The Road to the California State Games begins with the 2020 California high school baseball season. With the season just around the corner, our Staff has begun putting out team previews from all around the state getting you prepare for another year of exciting coverage.
In this edition we will take a closer look at the Heritage Patriots (Brentwood, CA), a talented team looking to build on a second place finish in NCS D1, hoping to take it one step further.

OUTLOOK:
Coming off a second place finish in the NCS D1 playoffs (lost to De La Salle 10-1), the expectations for the 2020 Patriots is quite high, for good reason. They return tremendous depth and talent among their position players, with multiple college committed seniors and a handful of juniors who are on the radar of colleges. Any team that returns starters up the middle is in good shape, especially so when the SS and 2B are D1 commits and entering their 3rd varsity season. The Patriots also have their starting catcher coming back as well as their top pitcher from their playoff run last season. The line-up will be one of the best in Northern California and will be dynamic, with a blend of speed, power, and contact hitting ability. They will have to replace 108 innings on the mound from departed seniors, which will be their biggest challenge.. a very significant challenge.
