Class of 2022- Rankings Updated
December 17, 2020
As of today, The PBR Arizona- Class of 2022 Player Rankings has had its end of the Fall update. PBR Arizona has had a chance to spend countless hours covering outside game & tournament action in addition to holding some of their own events over the last several months. We have had the chance to see many quality prospects during this time of all different skill levels including players that been on the radar for sometime now as well as players that have progressed more recently. As we get into the offseason season, we want to continue to follow these prospects even more as there are still many needs for players at all of the different levels of college baseball.
As always, the evaluation process is a fluid and ongoing process with multiple viewings in order to get the best feel for players abilities. It’s important to note that individual players will continue developing at their own pace, and surly this list will have more updates in the future. As we get closer to spring, PBR will once again be out in full force to see the progress players have made.
The AZ- Class of 2022 seems to have some solid depth across the board. In this update, the Outfield position really jumped out at us, led by Arizona State commit, Isaiah Jackson. The class currently has nine players in the OF committed to DI programs including: Gavin Turley (Oregon State), TJ Adams (Arizona), Ethan Hott (Stanford), Easton Talt (Washington), Alessandro Castro (Nevada), Kaleb Duncan (UNLV), Brandon Compton (San Diego), & Milo Rushford (New Mexico State).
Not on the list or feel that you may have been overlooked? Look out for our Preseason events that will be held in January & February. In addition to covering HS games & tournaments, these events are huge identifiers for prospects around the state of Arizona.
JACKSON TAKES OVER NO. 1 SPOT AFTER STRONG SUMMER & FALL SEASONS
+ 2022 OF Isaiah Jackson (Cienega)- Arizona State commit, Since Jackson's performance at the PBR Future Games in 2020, he has quickly established himself as one of the top left-handed power bats in the 4-corners. He shows significant upside in a long 6-3/190-pound frame that has added size since August. Jackson's power potential stands out but should continue to get even better over the next year with an easy swing & effortless pop. He gets on plane early looking to elevate the baseball. His composed demeanor and barrel awareness help his consistency in the box. Jackson also shows more ability to hit use the middle of the field in live game coverage. Defensively, he currently plays a solid CF at the high school level but should make a move to a corner at the next level. He uses athletic footwork & his length provides some more range to make up for some speed. Jackson's bat should have scouts paying attention in the future.
Stellar showing from ‘22 OF Isaiah Jackson (AZ) who was launching balls high over the right field fence routinely throughout his rounds.

GETTING TO KNOW GAVIN TURLEY
+ 2022 OF Gavin Turley (Hamilton)- Oregon State commit, Turley made a move to AZ from Utah before the school year started. We are excited to get to know him a little bit more come spring. In a small glance this fall, Turley's athleticism should fit right in towards the top of the talented Hamilton lineup. He uses a simple approach at the plate with excellent feel for the barrel. His hands and bat speed stand are advanced with every AB being a battle regardless of the outcome. There is also some more power upside present as he continues to get stronger in his athletic projectable frame. Defensively, he has good speed & body awareness combined with an easy arm. Turley should be a strong addition to one of the states top high school programs.
CHACON RISING UP THE BOARD
+ 2022 OF Dominic Chacon (Horizon)- currently uncommitted, In a normal year, Chacon would most likely have been off the board by now. As a member of Team Arizona at the 2020 Future Games, he had a solid week in Georgia with a well-rounded performance. If it wasn't for the plethora of power left-handed bats in the OF at this year's event like Isaiah Jackson & colleges not being able to be there in person, Chacon would have turned some more heads. Chacon shows significant upside in a wiry athletic 6-foot-3 185-pounds build. Left-handed hitter with level LD approach that started to show off some power of his own in the fall classic a couple months back. Defensively, he shows athletic active footwork with quick jumps & reads off the bat. While he's not a burner, his length & awareness makes up for some of it. He cut off a couple hard hit balls in the gap while at the Future Games. Chacon should be one of the top uncommitted players to follow going into the spring season.
2022 OF Dominic Chacon (@husky_baseball_)- surprised this kid is still @PBR_Uncommitted after his #PBRFutureGames. Long athletic frame, proj body. Takes this ball deep over RCF fence. Power should continue to progress. @prepbaseball@ShooterHunt @DominicChacon2 @AZFallClassic pic.twitter.com/gV03XZajch

KLECKER CONTINUES TO PROGRESS ON THE MOUND
+ 2022 RHP Kole Klecker (Hamilton)- Grand Canyon commit, Klecker last attended our PBR Top Prospect Games in mid June but we have been able to follow his progress since. We have always liked what Klecker has brought to the table on the mound since he first attended an event almost a year ago now. He has shown a pretty high ceiling as right-hander over the last 8 months and GCU took notice. Klecker has continued to progress during that time, gaining almost 6mph. At our Preseason All-state almost a year ago, he ran his FB up to 82mph. At the Fall Classic a couple months back, he worked his FB 85-87, topping out at 88mph while striking out 8 batters in the game. He seemed to have added some athleticism to his delivery while working in more up-tempo fashion. Klecker's high waisted projectable 6-2/175-pound frame has plenty of room add strength which could provide even more added velocity in the future.
