2022 OF/LHP Brandon Compton (Buckeye)- 6-foot, 195-pounds, San Diego commit, large strong bodied frame, noticeably stronger, looks like he's gained at least 15-pounds with big legs & chest. One of the more capable two-way potential players out there. Strength translated to the field where he's improved in almost every category. Hits from a sturdy, semi spread out base, uses a leg kick while maintaining a strong back leg into front footstrike, lands in a solid power position. Short balanced swing with middle of the field approach, mostly flyball contact on the day. Displayed more power potential with increased bat speed, hit a ball at 96mph at 371ft in BP. Capable defensive outfielder with a strong arm at 93mph, firm footwork with average jumps, ran a 7.38 60-yard dash. Made huge strides on the mound from previous viewing, using a clean athletic delivery from 3B side of the rubber with short stride. Throws with clean arm action from a H3/4 arm slot. FB worked mostly 85-88mph, topping at 89.6mph vis Trackman. FB has solid ride through the zone, averaging 19.1in of IVM. CV was a plus offering at 70-73mph, showing 12/6 shape with swing & miss capability, averaging -17.9in of depth. Mixed in CH that was thrown for strikes at 72-73mph. Compton seems to make improvements every time out.

5-foot-9 165-pounds, two-way player, balanced frame with projectability. Strength & maturity starting to come. Overall clean actions & high baseball IQ. Left-handed hitter with advanced approach. Starts from an athletic base with some weight on left leg, knees inside toes. Uses a small pick-up with minimal forward movement to generate leverage. Loads hands slightly back with some stoppage. Short level swing with middle approach. Hard contact at 87mph exit velocity. Showed ability to use LCF gap well. Capable corner OF, ran a 7.64 60-yard dash. More athletic than time shows. Used a side shuffle on throws to home with 82mph arm strength. Repeatable delivery on the mound, throwing strikes at 78-81mph combined with above average control on his average 12/6 CV. Going to be a player to monitor as he physically develops. Well rounded player.
